Strength:

Deep low bass, not too punchy. High range clarity.

Weakness:

Casing is a bit light and flimsy.

I had first purchased the Sennheiser Fusions HD500 and wasn't happy with them at all. They pretty much resembled the cheap Target bought Sonys that were my very first pair. The bass was too punchy and they looked and felt really cheap. So evidently I returned them and bought the HD570 instead. I have never been more satisfied. The bass rumbles clearly even at high volume. Every sound from high to low is crisp and blends well. The biggest plus however is their comfort. I love the velour ear padding and they are extremely light weight. I recommend these highly, especially for only 100 bucks.

Strength:

design. comfort. breathe.

Weakness:

maybe a bit too much bass.

I got my senns in Berlin for 170 DM (i.e. around 85 USD). I liked the sound and I have previously compared them with Grados and Sonys. I listen to everything from Bach to Depeche Mode and I found these as the best all rounders. AT the beginning (my friend which I visited in Berlin has Sonys) I found the bass to heavy but after a while I liked it and felt that they actually breathe (open back) and offer very good imaging. I strongly recommend you put these phones in your trying list.

Strength:

Cord design , Comfort!

Weakness:

Doesn't shut out outside noise too well

My Koss R/100 ( 60$ ) blew out so i got this pair, which has better clarity & the low end is much much better, bass is beutiful if not too much. Its not to good at shutting out noise like my chair skweaking but its still a damn good pair of headphones, i paid 130$ and even though i would have been kinda happy with my old pair, it was still worth every penny since these don't blow out, and of coarse you are getting superior sound. You get what you pay for

These sound great when you got properly collaborated equilizers , i use wow and DFX which you can get at www.winamp.com for your winamp mp3 player

Strength:

Neutral sound, price, styling, comfort, detachable 3m OFC cable, replaceable parts, 2 year warranty

Weakness:

None for the price

I have been using these headphones for just over a month now and I have to say that, for the money (£90 Sterling - that's about $140 USD folks!), these are a remarkable pair of cans. I bought the HD570 "Symphony" headphones to replace my old HD445's and the difference is startling. These headphones were recommended by my dealer after explaining to him I had £100 maximum to spend on a new pair of headphones.

What you get with the 570's is a very stylish and comfortable design coupled with a really gorgeous, detailed and VERY neutral sound that is good with ALL types of music. I've tried them with rock, pop, dance, classical - the full gamut of musical styles - and the 570's never fail to impress.

I do not agree with some of the other views posted here, i.e. that these headphones are too insistent with the treble or that they are not suited to rock/pop. This has not been my experience at all. I would describe them as having tight, taut and powerful bass with clean, smooth and superbly detailed mid-range, and crisp but not harsh or brittle treble.

When I first bought the 570's, I tried them with some CD's that I had found virtually unlistenable on my old HD445's due to harsh and insistent treble. The Beatles CD's (especially the early albums) from 1987, with their horrible, harsh and cutting treble, were unbearable to listen to on my 445's but are actually VERY listenable on these headphones. Also some 24K Gold "Audiophile" CD's, which again I had not been able to listen to on my 445's due to overbearing treble, sound just fine on the 570's.

These headphones really are a bargain for the money and will slot easily into any mid-priced or even budget hi-fi separates system. I am starting to hear detail on my CDs and LPs that I never even knew existed. For the money, these headphones offer incredible value.

Strength:

Comfort, clarity, price

Weakness:

Depends on the listener's preference: Bright highs, subdued lows

I didn't want the "boom" factor of the HD 500's, as they get fatiguing over a day in the office. The 570's on the other hand, are excellent.
The treble frequencies are quite bright. Probably too bright for many listeners.
Bass is subdued on many recordings yet comes alive on others. I suppose it's totally dependent on the recording level.

One listen to either classical or jazz on these cans, though, and you'll be glad you purchased them.

Rap/hip-hop/bass fans need not apply.

These do exactly what they're supposed to: accurately reproduce classical and acoustic music. A joy to listen to, and the single most comfortable pair of headphones I've ever owned.
Were it not for the sound, I'd forget that I have them on. :)

Strength:

Incredibly clear sound, design , durability , 3m cord

Weakness:

Squeaky headband?

I promised myself that I would write a review after I purchased my 570's just to make sure that anyone reading the previous reviews would not be frightened off.

First off, I'm not an audiophile but the overall Sennheiser package is a definitive winner for any type of listener. The beautiful design is what hooked me first, there are no other headphones whose design come anywhere close to the 500 range (In my limited search, that is..)

Sound quality wise I was bowled over...the sound was VERY clear and I had to literally listen to all my CD's over again, each time finding "hidden" highlights. For the more technical aspects please refer to the other reviewers' notes, at least they know what they are talking about.

I would recommend the earphones for classical music (Duh!), light rock but mostly instrumental or jazz.

After 7 months of general use they have gotten more comfortable, the velour has become better worn (but still easy to clean from fluff), although the headband construction seems somewhat squeaky.(Try flexing it).

The 3m cord is a bonus and the integrated socket in the 'phones themselves saved the cord numerouse times when I moved and the cord was caught somewhere.(The plug pulls out and the cord stays undamaged)

Finally, there is no doubt in my mind, whatsoever that I will purchase a similar set once these are worn out in the future.
