Brilliant detailed sound, perfect for dj'ing or studio monitoring.

The perfect headphones for dj'ing or monitoring. Extremely comfortable and light so they are perfect if you need to use them for long periods.
Also, they are very affordable.

Strength:

Good bass, light weight, affordabel price.

Weakness:

High tones and comfort.

Due to the closed construction of HD200 your ears will sweat if you use them for a while. I chose a closed type this time to close out noise and not to disturb the environment. I would say that the damping is not that efficient on ambient noise(as the older hearing protection-like models).
Soundwise they are suprisingly good, despite the plastic look. However the higher frequencies sound a bit weak even when I pull up the treble control. I tested a few different genres like Enya, Bach, Isaac Hayes and Squeeze and the HD200 seem to handle all these without problem.
Even if I like the HD200 model I'd probably buy an open back headphone next time since they are far more comfortable.

Strength:

Awesome sound, great value sound wise

Weakness:

May be a bit too bassy for some, build quality

I picked up a pair of these headphones the other day to use whilst drumming and i can say that they're absolutely fantastic. They drown out the sound of my extremely loud drums well so i dont have to turn the volume up in them too high and i can protect my ears but i can still hear my drums well. At the hi fi shop where i bought them i compared these with the sennheiser 500s and 570s and although i was after a closed design they sounded very poor compared to these 200s which were far far cheaper as well, half the price. I think this is because of their closed design and focus on bass. The 500s and 570s in comparison sounded too tinny and i had to turn the volume up on them higher to get a half decent sound. I didnt notice any improvement in accuracy in the 570s or 500s. The build qualiy on these is not what you'd expect for a $AUS159 pair of headphones, they are exactly like something you'd pick up at radio shack they are that cheap looking. I understand that they're a lightweight design but they still are far too plasticy and not rugged enough. For this price they should be able to make them of the same build quality as the sennheiser 25s for sure. They do a great job for what i require but i have to treat them very carefully because of their poor build quality. Try them and im sure you'll be blown away by the phenomenal sound quality u get for the price.

Strength:

Excelent sound clarrity. Good base, depth, brilliant positional audio, removable chord and modular construction. Different looks

Weakness:

style may not suit everyones tastes.

In a nutshell, these headphones are excelent. I initially brought them so that I could play PC games with lotys of boomy explosions without disturbing people in the same house as me.

They rose way above my expectations, the sound is increadibly precise and detailed, I can hear some sounds that I couldn't even when listening from my Creative DTT2500 digital speakers!
The sounds are not at all muddy, they are crystal clear- almost sharp.

They can take very loud sounds, and even give some kind of heavy force into your ears when you have the volume up high and listen to bassy sounds. You can feel a slight pressure because of their closed cups.

I found them to be very comfortable, they hold to my head very well, and close round my ears precisely, excelent deisgn from Sennheiser.
I have a very slender face, so people with more rounded stature may find the comfort levels different.

They are very light in weight, so can be used for very long periods of time.

I find the positional audio from them outstanding. You can as well as hear 4 point sounds from behing and infront, also to an extyent hear things moving away from your head, kind of 'depth of feild'. Not sure hwo they do that with just 2 speakers inside cupped compartments!

I like the way they are styled, they look distinkt from other headphones, and, as my taste goes, very stylish. I'm into modern and different designs (Im an architect in training after all).

The removable shord and modular design is esxcelent. I have several times accidentallhy caught the wire on a chair, and it just pops out of the headphones. Both ends use jacks, so can quickly be plugged back in.

They are increadibly functional with their modular design, a testiment to german engineering and deep thought into the process of construction, maintenance, orgnamics and use.

Hope this was useful.

Strength:

clear, detailed sound.

Weakness:

bass is lacking, not comfortable, UGLY

I have to disagree with most of the reviews because the sound is not exactly what I'd expect from a closed headphone. Perhaps I'm biased by the HD 25SP, but the HD 200's don't give me the isolation I need. Also, the bass is somewhat lacking. I'd expect a bit more from a headphone that's targeted at DJ's. Also, I think the phones are a bit uncomfortable for a long period of time. Finally, I can't figure why Sennheiser made the earcups white, which is so 80's tacky. Anyway, these phones are not awful in terms of sound. Definitely great detail, but I expected a slightly heavier sound.

Strength:

Loud Loud Loud!
Bass is quite Good i dont see why people are saying the bass is bad.

Weakness:

Seperation is not very good. Most people would not even notice this.

They are excellent Headphones for the casual listener or audio enthusiast who are in the market for low/mid headphones.

If you are an Audiophile you can pick the flaws most people would never notice so i would recommend you test these before purchase.

All round these are spectacular headphones
