Strength:

long cord, blocks noice well, others don't have to listen to my music.

Weakness:

none really for the price.

I've never been much of a Sony fan. I've leaned toward Panasonic over Sony in the past. I first picked up the MDR-V600. They sucked ass. I listen to Salsa, Rap, R&B, Reggae, and what ever else. The Sony's are way over priced. When you listen to them it sounds like you are listening to them with cotton in your ears. All you here is bass. I picked these RP-HT355 up at Circuit City. I listened for about 10 seconds and I bought these over the Sony.

Decent overall response, better than anything I've heard. Go with these for a decent cheap set. I have heard a lot of good things about the Grado SR 80 and the Sony MDR-V7506. I'm going to check those out. If I can get them for under $100 then I'll probably return these and get one of those.

Can't beat these for the price compared to much more expensive headphones. Sound quality is good for the price you pay. Volume wheel is convienent when I'm at work.

Strength:

Good bass response (quite loud which i like). Keeps a lot of outside noise out. Volume controll on the speaker wire.

Weakness:

The wire is connected to the phones at both ends instead of just one, and the ear cups are somewhat smaller than i would like, but i have huge ears

great headphones for the price. the model on mine is RP-HT355, which isn't listed and i think this is the closest thing. The sound is actually very good for what you pay for and the bass response is great. Almost as good as the VMSS seriers hometheater headphones except without the shaking. 40mm drivers in these though, as opposed to 50mm in the VMSS. There is one more thing that concerns me: the part where the headband connects to the ear cups is kinda thin, but it actually looks like they might last b/c it is somewhat flexible, not rigid to the point where it will snap. Note: if you have really big ears like me its gonna be a crunch to fit them in, but they will still fit.

I've used the HT355s for a couple years and have been quite pleased with them.

Pros:
- Block external noise well.
- Loooong cord (16 ft) lets you move around.
- Fit well over big-ass ears.

Cons:
- Loooong cord gets tripped over constantly. This eventually caused the left phone to snap off (though it still fits on the headphones through friction quite firmly). I still use them, and curiously the detached left phone is useful as a one-ear monitor and as a failsafe when I yank the cord.
- Amped bass. Not too intrusive, but noticeable.

Not sure:
- I'm constantly noticing new things about my music with these phones that I never hear through even very good speakers. However, I don't know whether the phones are arbitrarily amplifying tracks that are supposed to remain in the background. In any case, it makes for interesting listening.
