Strength:

Open wide dynamic clear crisp analytical sound reproduction. Bose famous name. Unbelievable customer support.

Weakness:

No weakness, Just that the black model wasnt available at the store so i had to buy the blue ( i dont lke the blue)

Unbelievable! I bought these headphones after returning the Sennheiser HD-500's cause they were such pieces of crap. Im actually a very critical person when it comes to sound since my house is rigged with high quality stereo components. Currently i use these headphones for DVD movies, thus being connected to my Harman/Kardon reciever and the sound is unbelievable. The sound is very dynamic and clear making u feel like your on stage with the singers. About a year ago i never would have thought of getting bose products cause i had a negative impression on them but just a couple of weeks ago i was invited to a bose seminar (bose showing off their products) and i was impressed like no tomorrow. The sound is very powerful and detailed and the long cord is very ideal for my set up. I would recommend these anyday over Sennheiser HD-560's for they are truly a piece of sophisticated technological headphones.

Strength:

deep lows/natural sound compact and light weight price for the quality

These headphones are amazing!! I recently went through 3 other pair of headphones (Sennheiser 570, 590, Sony MDR-V700DJ Studios), and I finally decided to try Bose even though I've never liked the sound quality they produce. I was totally sold when I put these on. They are far superior over all the competitors in the price range I was looking for (this is coming from a Bose hater). If you want TRUE sound w/o the distortion or distant sound (Sennheiser), I highly recommend these headphones!

I do not know too much about the technical aspects of audio equipment, but I can tell differences in quality of sound. I was unhappy with an Audio Technica headphone (paid $50), and wanted something with clearer sound with good base. I also have BOSE 301V speakers for home audio and have enjoyed using them to listen CD and DVDs. The reason for choosing Triport was the size of the headphone. I have looked at different sets, and there are no others that sound as good. I have tried Sennheiser PX250, but I did not like the piece of box (noise guard) in between the cables. So I got the Triport. Now that it is mine, I listen to music on my hour commute to work. More I listen to it, I know that I've made the right choice in getting Triport. Sound quality is superb. I'm sure there are better headphones out there if you pay the price. But to find a good headphone with quality sound and the compact size, I don't think there are too many choices. The sound is very clear on the high end, and a lot of punch in teh base. Very similar to the 301V I have at home. I've considered using larger headphones, but to listen off a portable CD player you really don't have a wide range of choice for a quality sound headphone that is compact. I recommend these headphones to anyone who would want to listen to music outside there house.

Strength:

*Deep Bass *Clarity of Sound *Good Design *Comforatable *LOUD *BOSE reputation *Comes with an extension cord *Comes with a headphone jack input size converter

Weakness:

None found in over 2 years of use

Bose bashers need to take a look at the competition. It seems like people like to be over-critical of sound components when it comes to Bose. I bought these headphones after how impressed I was with my other Bose products. They are "The most respected name in sound" for a reason. These headphones posess the unmatched legendary clarity of sound that only Bose seems able to produce. They not only produce clear, crisp and deep bass, but also TRUE bass that does not sound "clipped" or over-extended. They fit snug and comforatable on your ears, and do not hurt your head or make you feel uncomforatable even after hours of listening. A true product for your money. Also, I have had a lifetime of experience using Bose products, and never EVER in my life have I seen a company that is more devoted to customer service. I have had a few minimal problems with my products, and they have also been promptly taken care of, and handled in a manner that surpases all of my expectations. On the other hand, have you ever tried to get ahold of SONY Corporation?? It's actually impossible.

Bought these new headphones for use to walk to work and for gym after stepping on and breaking my Sony ones. They were $170 CDN which are a bit on the pricey side for use as ear muffs in the cold Canadian winter. You really do notice a difference in sound quality compared to the average $30-50 headphones. I noticed a lot of "extra sound" that I had never heard from my CDs before when they were played through other earphones or headphones. Bonus :).The only drawback for me is that I have a smaller head (being Asian and female) so it tends to want to slide off my head while I'm working out.

Weakness:

Disappointing sound quality and poor construction at this price point

Well, I demoed a pair of the Bose TriPort headphones. And they were, to say the least, very disappointing. Especially for the $150 price tag. The TriPorts have, if anything, undesirably echoey and honky sound, making everything sound as if they were recorded in a cave. Moreover, the bass response is muddy and undetailed, and the highs are tinny and ringing. There's simply no detail at all whatsoever across the audible spectrum. In other words, I got only $30 worth of sound for five times that much (though it's not the worst that I've heard). Furthermore, the construction is very cheap for $150 headphones. In fact, the construction quality is better suited for a $30 pair of headphones than a $150 pair of headphones. All told, there are much better closed headphones than the Bose TriPorts - for half the price.

Strength:

Great sound; great comfort. Reasonable price for the low-replacement cost for the original purchaser.

Weakness:

a little fragile regarding the cable and the headband. Watch those two areas.

These headphones have a dual reputation: Exceptional sound and comfort. I did not fully realize how significant this technical combination is until I was without my BOSE TriPorts for 2 weeks. I had to resort to the headphones that came with my SONY Walkman or a standard pair manufactured by AIWA. I was very unhappy with the comfort and sound of both these. I have a desk job, financed based, and I listen to music all day long at work as it helps my concentration (smile). The TriPorts are excellent in that audio frequency response (Hz to kHz) reveals more music than you will hear with most headphones. And they provide unparalleled comfort. You can wear them for eight hours straight. I sometimes leave them on after the music stops as they create a subliminal womb-like experience, with or without music. They can block out all sounds from the next cubicle. Tips: 1. Treat these headphones with a little more care than $30 headphones. I was in an unusual accident and mine were damaged. However, they were still under warranty and BOSE replaced them, at no charge, and I had them back in 2 weeks. Or, out-of-warranty, you can get a new set for just $29, when you can prove that you are the original purchaser. That's cool that Bose will treat you right for just buying them (it's like a lifetime membership). 2. Adjust the headband snugly over your head. This creates a vacuum that enhances sound isolation and keeps in the reproduced sound.
