Strength:

Limited bass – perhaps – but do any in-ear headphones pump out ear-popping beats? The strengths of the A8 headphones are the clean and crisp midrange. Full range of tone is picked up and is not distorted with an increase in volume. Vocals, rock, guitar, pop, dance…all the different tracks used in a song can be heard and appreciated.

Weakness:

The earphones come with a piece of black foam for each of the earpieces. It is recommended to use these if you have sensitive ears. If you don’t, throw them away. They’re a nuisance, get dirty easily and destroy the aesthetic quality of the headphones.

The headphones can be frustrating to use and adjust at first but after a few days it becomes second nature.

Clear and crisp sound. Buy these if you don’t want to be lugging around “DJ” style headphones, but want similar tonal ranges and sound quality.

Customer Service

Purchased of a Qantas Airways flight… service…I don’t think so

Apple headphones: The apple headphones (when new) have acceptable sound quality. However, with frequent use sound quality deteriorates. This occurs because the wires become damaged, especially if you wrap the cords around your device when it isn’t in use.

Another product that I have used is the Bose Quite Comfort 3 headphones. These headphones offer better sound quality than the B&O A8 headphones on a plane as they have noise cancellation technology. It’s a shame they are over three times the cost.

Strength:

Superb sound quality.
Excellent flexibility for fit.
Unconventional looks.

Weakness:

Price.
A bit weaker bass.
Unconventional looks.

My iPod was a liability until I bought these earphones. I hardly ever enjoyed my iPod because the earphones didn't fit my ears well and kept slipping off resulting in poor sound quality. In addition, there was 'muddled' sound quality in the regular earphones. I bit the bullet and purchased the A8 earphones without listening to them as the stores do not put them on display them, probably due to hygienic reasons. I am glad to say that for the first time, I am able to ENJOY music from my iPod and my collection ranges from Country to Jazz to Pop to Bollywood music. The crisp sound emanated by these earphones provide amazing experience. These earphones probably have given me the best music listening experience and I am carrying them everywhere.

Strength:

Great sound, great looks, fits ears well, and is very versitile

Weakness:

the jack design could use some work, it sticks straight up so it seems like it could break fairly easily.

Thes headphones has some of the best sound i have heard with in-ear headphones. I have full-size headphones when i really want to listen hard, but when im walking around, excersizing, or doing anything that i wouldnt want to be wearing big, gaudy headphones, i use these. The treble and mid-range is great, and the bass is alright. I would very much recommend them to someone who loves great sound and versitilty. Plus they look sweet!

Comfortable
Adjustable for any purpose
Will stay on your ear regardless
Comes with extension cord (not that that really matters much but hey)
Great little leather carry case

Weakness:

Disposible headphones
The speaker life is 2 years at the max so be prepared to be annoyed
B&O stores operate independently so keep your receipt they aren't very friendly unless you have that.

During the working time I was happy with the sound on these headphones. The construction is solid and unlike most headphones is made of aluminium. The biggest benefit, and only reason I would buy a new set, is the form fitting comfort of the earpiece. I only have to ask what gives that this isn't now the standard? How can all other manufacturers be so blind that they can't see that B&O has something here? If other manufacturers used this template but and their own higher quality speakers we would truly have a great product. Which leads me to the "but".
Unlike my other experiences with B&O products unfortunately the durability and life of the speakers makes this a disposible headphone. The warrenty is only three years and in 4 I have now gone through two sets. I currently have the difficult decision to make of comfort over quality and do I feel like wasting my money on something that won't last but while it does it will feel like I'm not even wearing headphones.
--Will probably go with the practical "...no reason to throw your mony away".

Strength:

Good sound fit well look cool

Weakness:

The jack is silver and the cable is not as good as same sony headgear i would go for gold jack as tit help with sound and if the cable was like some where it has fabric look about it or nylon it would finish it off a treat .

I bought the earphones on the way home from hoilday i always liked the look of the A8 bang&olufsen head phones i used them on the plane and woth my i pod i must say they fit well and sound great. I dont htink thst i would have bought them in the uk as they are a bit pricey. But for looks and great sound and the fact that they are diffrent from the rest of of the earphones that you see. Make your self stand out for the crowd and its better get a head before every one starts wearing them.

Strength:

Sound quality. Comfort. Guarentee

Weakness:

You might consider the price a weakness. But with the guarentee, ilf you're hard on equiptment, it's not. Further if great sound is important to you, it's worth it.

I read reviews here and wanted to let people know how fabulous this item is. I'm an althlete and personal trainer. I train very hard with weights and do martial arts and Olympic lifting and spinning and lots of other stuff. I was breaking every other set of headphones I had about once every six months. I always listen to music when I'm working out. I went into the showroom and was shocked at the price, but when I found out there was a five year guarentee I figured I was actually saving money.

Now I am hooked. I recently bought a ipod and the earphones that came with it are horrible in comparison. Just trash. I'm not sophisticated enough to be able to tell you exactly what the difference is, but to my above average ear it was dramatic.

Further, when you get the hang of adjusting them - not hard really - they are way comfortable and do not come out. And believe me I am leaping all over the place.

But the best part is that the guarentee really works. One of the ear buds stopped working after a year or so and the store just gave me a new pair no questions asked. They have all your information on their computer so you don't even need a reciet. They are just really helpful. I also stopped in recently to get those earphone covers - I have no idea what they're called. Again they just handed them to me.

They are also beautiful, but the design is even more outstanding because the materials make them hard to destroy. Frankly I would pay more for them - don't tell the company.

Customer Service

Second to none.

Strength:

Much better treble performance
Mid-range (I guess thats what it is called ) is very strong
Each note stands out and you listen to a lot more than earlier!! When all instruements and voices lack the edge, they overlap.
- Stylish for sure....

Weakness:

- Putting it on : Tough to understand how to make it stay in the best sounding position. The phones are probably a little large for my ears - will keep trying.
- Expensive, but not would I call a ripoff A lot of similar headphones with such quality are similarly priced even without a brand like B&O.

I am not an audiophile though I listen to music extensively. My tastes are very varied ranging from heavy metal to classical instrumental to Hindi songs.

I picked up the headphones yesterday and compared a few songs with my Ipod headphones. The difference was very obvious and the best way to describe it is that each note and each voice has a 'defnite edge' to it. This makes everything more defined and a pleasure to listen.

Also, not sure if I would agree that bass is lacking. Its much more than my ears can handle.

Customer Service

Walked into the shop and also went through their other products. Great shop ambience, good sales staff. No need to use customer service so far.

Strength:

the sound quality is good for an earphone but not worth the £100 i paid the first time but is fantastic for £30 of ebay.

the design is stylsih

the design is comfortable and secure

Weakness:

the low range frequencies are lacking

the mid range lack some colour but are still very good

ive heard people saying that the ones off ebay are cheap fakes. unfortunately this is not true they are actualy oem models this essentialy means they are straight from the manufacturer so are cheaper but the same. this does mean that you will not get a warranty or any guarantees however. the actualy earphone is exactly the same i can guarantee this as ive bought them from B&O aswell and feel stupid for doing so.

Strength:

Design - second to none
High Quality materials
Clear, accurate sound reproduction for in-ear heaphones
Bang and Olufsen's penchant for avant-garde design
I have been using them for 3 years and have not seen a better combination of quality, sound, style and portability.
Good value for money

Weakness:

Not good for some spectacle wearers
Lack full bass of plug and over ear headphones
Not priced to appeal to mass market (but then again which B&O products are)

The design of these headphones is second to none, the fact that other companies like sony, sennheiser and philips have tried to copy it is a testament to this. And Bang and Olufsen design all their own products. The materials are high quality - aluminium and rubber. The fit perfectly and are three way adjustable, when you fit them on they don't come off. They are also extremely comfortable and one of few pairs of headphones that I have felt comfortable wearing for several hours. The sound is excellent. If you want base heavy headphones then these are not for you but if you want headphones which reproduce music beautifully and add to your music listening experience then these are definitely for you. I noticed someone criticising B&O cutomer service. But when I bought these at the B&O oulet at Selfridges they issued me with a warranty certificate and when one of the headphones stopped playing sound (I probably yanked it) they replaced it straight away. Another time when a srew at the end of the clip came off they also replaced it. In the box you get the headphones a cable extension a nice leather case foam earpads and a intruction manual. WATCH OUT THERE ARE A LOT OF FAKES OUT THERE ESPECIAALY ON EBAY, YOU CAN TELL BECUASE THE BANG AND OLUFSEN LOGO IS ETCHED IN WHITE INSTEAD OF BLACK.
