Strength:

Price, brand name reliability

Weakness:

Text entering but with practice it easier and faster

Wore the arm out swapping CDs in my groovy single-play Sony, so, saw this critter on sale for $149. I asked the salesperson for a discount and they knocked anuddah' 5 bux off... it pays to ask!!!
This is my first CD changer. Works well, goes from one disc to another quickly. Intuitive layout and design.
I use my Sansui QRX-9001 to synthesize quadraphonic sound from stereo sources. The output of this CD player works great. As is typical for the CD medium, the outstanding channel separation, low noise, lack of compression, etc. gives the decoder in my quad unit a LOT to work with.

No complaints on this product. Time will tell about long-term reliability.

Strength:

Price for functionality. Pretty fast exchange.

Weakness:

Text feature is labor intensive. Disk exchange can be noisy.

I got this for about $170. It holds about half of my disks. Full random can play for over a week. Not a bad value for a large disk exchanger.

Strength:

Fast Changing, Sound, Price & DTS

Weakness:

Memory

Let me begin by saying that this player is fantastic!!

I drasctically out-grew my old Pioneer (since it only held 6 discs and my collection has somehow exploded to over 500).

This is my first venture into the so-called "mega-cd
changers" and at first I was little skeptical considering many of the reviews I have read on changers holding 100 to 300 discs. However, after auditioning the many players at my local electronic stores I decided on the Technics SL-MC7 (and I havn't regretted it for a single moment).

I have the player connected to an Onkyo Integra Receiver (model DTR-7) via the digital opitical out-put. The sound you get from the digital connection is amazing. I am by-passing the players 1-bit DAC and using the receivers 24-bit DAC. It's like I am re-discovering my collection all over again.

The design of this player is great. I love the fact that I can open/change CD's while it's playing and that it is not a mega-carousel (I have heard stories how unreliable the carousel's can be after a while).

I can't comment on the text entering feature since I have yet to utilize it. Since I will be swapping discs every couple months or so, entering the discs would not be worthwhile (besides - why do I need to have the artist displyed? They are my CD's and I should know what discs I have in there - right?)

In any case, if you are looking for a great player that produces excellent sound quality (at a amazing price - $174.00 - then give this player a try).

Strength:

Great Sound + Quick and Quiet Load + Optical Out - Is there anything else one can ask!

Weakness:

none (no keyboard entry for text - but at this price - it is small weakness - at this price the sound qulaity is high end)

I have been using the unit for 8 months now.
The SOny i had scratched the cds - Technics keeps them immaculate. The changing mechanisms is the quitest and te fastest. If 111 is ur max capacity - this is the best receiver u can buy - even if u have a higher budget - go for this! It is comparable to real expensive high end changers.

Strength:

Quick change and optical digital output

Weakness:

Noisy and Occasional disc jamming.

This is a pretty solid unit. I have a very large CD collection so having this unit is great for me. From the professional reviews that I’ve read, this is the fastest CD changer jukebox. I can attest to that. This changer has one major problem. I’ve noticed that when playing CD’s randomly, the changer gets jammed occasionally. All you have to do is open it up and remove the jammed disc, but that can be a headache sometimes. Maybe it’s just my unit because I haven’t read any other reviews that mentioned it. Nevertheless, I think this is a solid unit and worth $150. It sounds pretty good through RCA connections or digital outputs.

Strength:

Digital Output(DTS), Easy disc exchange, Looks cool

Weakness:

Very loud, disc jamming(mostly due too human error)

I have been in the proccess of upgrading my home theater system and I have recently baught the Technics SL-MC7 CD changer. At first I was only looking for convienence in a mega CD changer, but when I conected it to my H/K AVR-300 reciever and used the digital conection I was blown way with what I heard. Comprared to my previous Sony 5 disc changer I was presented with much more detail in sound and a greater sense of atmosphere. You will be able to find a 200 or 300 disc mega changer for the same price but you will have nothing but hassle. With the Technics fold down front it is very easy to change CDs. The only disadvantage is the amount of noise it makes when changing CDs.

Strength:

Holds 111 CDs, price, good set of features.

Weakness:

Dificulty playing CDR audio

This is a pretty good unit. My only complaint is about dificulty playing CDR audio media which I could play flawessly with a rather simple Aiwa system...
Good features: Selection of groups of CDs, various random modes, digital optical out, you can change CDs while it is still playing, etc.
