I just purchased my Sony CDP-CE315 for $160. It's my second carosel-type CD player which replaced my Kenwood player. I recently acquired a slightly used Sony SAVA Pro Logic Theater system from a friend (which was a deal for $200), but my Kenwood CD player's line out level was too high, which in turn created major distortion. I thought at first it was a compatibility issue (between my Kenwood CD player and my Sony speaker system) because when I used my Sony Playstation as a CD player, there was no distortion. So I went out and got the Sony CDP-CE315. The first time I used Sony CDP-CE315 CD player with my SAVA speaker system, I still had distortion. Then I noticed two buttons on the supplied remote which saved me--line out level buttons (+ & -). Supposedly the line output was too high, which had to be toned down around -7 db. The Sony CD player is great. The carosel is much quieter than my old Kenwood CD player, sound clarity is clear and crisp, and making your own programs is a snap. The rotary knob for selecting tracks is a great alternative to the usual push button selectors.
In all, I'm somewhat disappointed with Sony and its SAVA powered speaker system, in that it's too sensitive, but I'm happy with the CDP-CE315 and its adjustable line out level (which has to be adjusted everytime its powered on). The Sony CDP-CE315 is a great buy, just be wary of the SAVA series powered speaker system.
