Strength:

Analog sounding--warm, deep, and detailed sounding.

Weakness:

None.

I purchased second hand and been using it for 2 month. I played first press record v.s. remastered CD, and it was amazing that I could barely recognized the difference between analog and digital. Very warm and enough details to enjoy music. This is THE BEST cd player I ever heard/owned!!! My audio system: Speakers: JBL Paragon (Main), EMI Benjamin (Sub) Analog: Thorens TD124 Ortofon SPU GT GE VR1000 DENON DL-102(78s) Amplifier: JBL SG520(preamp) QUAD II (mainamp)

Strength:

Crisp clean sound, very impressive sound-detail

Weakness:

none as far as I know

Visiting my dealer for a new rega planet, I decided to give the Jupiter/Io a listen. Since this combination is double the price of a Planet, I was curious if this difference was noticible. Well, it was. Allthough the Planet is without a doubt the best CD-player in its pricerange, the Jupiter/Io is a class of its own. It was love at first sight and needles to say I bought the miracle couple.

My system contains Rega Mira amplification and Infinity Overture 3 speakers (which, because of the build-in 300 Watts active subwoofers, do not need a whole lot of power from an amplifier. In fact, compared to Rega's Cursa/Maia pre/poweramplifier, Mira sounded just about the same.)
Rega's interlink proves to be a very affordable interlink worthy of my system.

Strength:

Cheap

Weakness:

It depends what you connect it two ...

this is a good player in the midrange spectra.
I had it whith a H/K 1.0 Signatur preamp and Rotel`s 991
This was a winning combination.Because the H/K is a bit hard and the Rega is "analog".
But when i connected it too The Classe` ssp-25 it did´nt work at all .It all got two "smooth" It´s like a madress arround the spekers. So in a cheap system aprox 2500-5000$
It`s a five star
whith a more exlucive system it`s a three star over all rating

You liked the Planet, you will love the Jupiter & Io. No doubt that the Planet is an excellent CD Player. Yet, Rega's new CD player goes much further. The sound is really great : full of life, low frequency are more present than with the Planet, high frequency are more subtle, the articulation is marvellous. The top CD-Player for those who usually don't appreciate numerical sound ! Although more expensive than the Planet, the Jupiter & Io is really good-value.
My system : Sugdgen, Spendor FL6, Mogami & Rega links.

Excellent from the bottom to the up end, very natural sound, lots of rhythm, communicative above all. No way to get your money better spent. What else ?
