As I've heard this CD player , it sound very sweet and has pretty wide image.I compare this CD player with Harmann FL8350, I can tell that this cd player got a lot better image even playing harmann fl8350 with digital coaxial .

However, you might need good interconnect wire to get this good detail sound, such as monster interlink250 or better.

Many of my friend is using this incridible cdplayer ( the price is very attractive..$190 only )

So comparing in price range up to $300 I give this cd player 5 star.

Snap, Crackle, Pop that is what I hear from the AD/DA coverters on this unit. It is almost like listening to a record. I think I bought it for $179 but hey it's a NAK. Don't be fooled. Changing disks sounds like disks are getting tossed around.
It is not a bad looking unit. But I have yet to see a unit of this type that me want to vomit. It probably has the same front panel fetures that most others do.

All in all I was most displeased with the noise pops in the audio.

Strength:

Great Sound - Never a Problem

Weakness:

None

I used Audio Review quite a bit in putting my current system together with the exception of an impulse by eight months ago at Best Buy - Nakamichi AV-500 receiver and CDC-200 CD player. My speakers are Polk RT800's (front), RTFX's (rear), CS400 (center) and PSW 120 (sub). I've never had a problem at all with the CDC-200. I was extremely surprised by the negative comments I just read. I don't know if it's a coincidence but it seems that most of the negative reviews are from folks that bought theirs from UBid - could it have been a bad batch that UBid got for some reason? Honestly, I've been perfectly happy with mine and have never experienced any sort of problem at all. I can't remember exactly but I think I paid just over $175 for it.

Strength:

None

Weakness:

the unit itself

I just wanted to agree with every negative review submitted for this unit. See my review of 3-31-00. This heap was the absolute WORST piece of electronic equipment I have ever owned in my entire life! JUNK- bar none. The Yamaha CD player replacement has performed far better already in just one month. I'm so glad that NAK time-bomb is off of my hands. I can't believe NAK would treat paying customers as reported here in other reviews?
You might find your box if you own this unit and get it ready for arrival at its final destination...
The trash-bin! RIP

Strength:

None whatsoever

Weakness:

Many as listed below previously by others

I've had this player for a while now and it only works about 50% of the time. It's motor makes a fairly loud audible noise during playback, it skips and plays fast on play, and it can't read all CD's! This is presposterous, especially coming from a company as respected as Nakamichi. They should have honored ANY request for a full refund on this flawed product, instead of giving all these previous posters flack. I too, will boycott Nakamichi based on this experience with one of their CD players. What a major dissapointment, and i'm out some money as well.

Weakness:

there is no weakneses and i dont know y people brag about the mechanical noise cause most of cd players do that unless you have one for $20,000 like Krell

This is a good cd player and it has allot of good things in it. People brag too much about the mechanical sound while changing discs but who cares its the the mechanical sound that u listen too its the music that the cd player provides i give it 5 stars cause i like the look and the sound it also give very good bass excpecially when you listen to Nine Inch Nails very good price very good cd player thats all that counts!......

Strength:

Everything, especialy the bass that it gives

Weakness:

none that i hear or see.

This is a very good cd player for such a low price. I have used it for a year and I didn't have any problems with it. It gives the speakers more bass and is very good. I don't know why people said that it's noisy becuase 90% of cd changers make the same kind of noise.

I feel for the people that did not pay the normal retail price for the unit. I bought the unit from a reputable firm and paid a whole lot more than some of the others that posted a review. It could very well be that "refurbished" units were bought for the prices posted.

My unit never skips and is not abnormally noisy. We bought the unit by name alone and have not been disappointed. This is the first Nakamichi product I purchased. If this is any indication of their quality, I will continue to buy Nakamichi. Hopefully I did not jinx myself.
