Strength:

detailed, accurate, simple to use

Weakness:

uninvolving, not very dynamic, with flat cap bass seems very lean and thin

i recently added a naim 3.5 and flat cap to my system. i also have a 72 pre amp and 140 amp and use Acoustic Energy AE-2 speakers and a Magnum Dynalab FT-11 Tuner. i also have a 2nd CD player a nad 515.

I am sorry to report im not very impressed with the 3.5 with flatcap. the sound is not very involving and just seems rather bland. It does sound accurate but it dosent seem to pull or draw you into the music. in fact, the flat cap seems to have even detracted from the sound quality. as it has made the bass even leaner than without out it. i have been told what is actually happening is that the bass has been tightend up and i can buy that to a point but none the less it has detracted from the dynamics of the sound.
i am also using all naim interconnects including the Black Snake.
any suggestions, ideas and comments would be welcome.
