Strength:

General: Build, looks and upgrade possibilities
Sound: Evenhanded presentation

Weakness:

Sound: Deep bass, but lean, maybe too lean. Does not exactly exite (not easy to get those feet tapping)

Analytical machine, some say warm, but I find it much harder than my Marantz' of old, (63II and 63SE). It does everything right, but does not engage as much as I would wish, at least not with pop and rock. Seems to be more at home with vocal jazz, acoustic pop and classic music. My setup comprises of LC Audio (Danish) pre/prower wide range class A amps which are slighty on the bright side but are capable of DC currents if needed, so bass is not a problem. Combined with silver/teflon interconnects (DIY) the NAD is not at its best. Needs a warmer setup to thrive I would think. Somehow I still like it. Lived with it for nearly a year now and it is probably growing on me which is why I consider it to be very evenhanded despite some gripes about musicality.

In Norway (and probably in Sweden and Denmark) we are slightly biased as the price of the unit here is less than 700GBP compared to 1100GBP in England. At this price it is a bargain.
