Tried this item purchased from AA for 95$ with pretty old
Marantz 5-disc player. It's completely unable to improve anything. A little better stereo imaging but nothing up 12K Hz. Sounds dull and annoying. Later bought Audio Alchemy transport. What a terrible noise X-Act have produced. Liveless and superslow. I don't recommend to spend even 10$ for this piece of shit 'cause it's unable to improve anything, even 100 year old CD-players.

I bought this unit to use with my Phillips CDR 870 recorder. It did a great jobopening up the high notes.Flutes and cymbals are more airy.Voices seem more natural.Acoustic guitars have more separation around each note.I would say it
brought my units sound up to around a $1000-1200 dollar player. It's a great
$99 investment.
