I bought this CD player factory refurbished 2 years ago and have loved the sound quality from it. I have primarily listened through headphones. What keeps me from giving it a perfect rating is that it broke on me a little after a year's use (the tray would stick about an inch before it was closed). Even though it was a couple of months after the warranty was up they fixed it for free and I haven't had any troubles since.

This 5 player was to replace another make which i had stolen. I have never been so dissapointed in an audio purchase. I was "told" by an eager salesman, that this was equalivant to my previous product.. This product has been at the repair shop on 4 occasions. The problem is intermittant. It jams when closing....then it grinds when turning....wont complete a turn and constantly shows "error" when tried. The repair store cannot nail down the problem as when i take it in it works well. They have told me the hardest problems to find are intermittant problems. They have also told me of the high number of repairs to this product and the complaints regarding the design...(the functionality keys are all under the turntable...so when the turntable is being loaded, one cannot use the functions without getting down on their knees and looking under the turntable. My rating is -10. I would love to know what to do with this product . It is only 2 years old.

This is a nice cd player. This sound quality is first-rate, but it isn't perfect.
Pros: 5-disc changer opens for access to 4 discs at once. Excellent sound quality (when compared to Sony, Pioneer, Aiwa, and the like). Can be purchased for less than $175, making it an excellent deal. Headphone out, plus headphone volume control. Controls: Time, intro, tape size, random (disc, all), A to B repeatability, repeat (track, disc, all), 3-way front panel illumination (normal, 50%, off). Classy apperance.

Cons: Somewhat sub-par construction quality (feels plasticy(sic)). Cheap remote control. No direct-disc control button on remote. That is, you must press the 'disc' button then the number of the disc you want played in order to switch discs. Lastly, the remote control doesn't work when aimed beyond a 45 degree angle from the cd-player.

I have owned this cd player for around two and a half years now, and I don't plan on selling it anytime soon. I give this cd player a four (4) star review because it sounds great, but has a few quirks that keep it from receiving five stars. The worst of these quirks, in my opinion, is the plasticy(sic) feel of the player, but that can easily be overlooked for the price. I consider sound quality the most important feature, and that is what this cd player delivers. There ARE better cd changers out there, but comparable models (in terms of sound quality) cost much more.
