Information retrieval, remote upsampling

Fabulous one-box CD replay. Information retrieval is outstanding, without being harsh or abrasive.

Remote upsampling is huge bonus. Most often, as noted by the other reviewers, upsampling makes the presentation much more three-dimensional and firms up the bass. With well-recorded discs the result is breathtaking. There isn't always a big difference, though, particularly with poor quality discs (which is a good thing since it suggests upsampling is extractive rather than additive).

Don't take it home for an audition unless you can afford it!

If there was a product of the year award from the users... I would give it to this player. I simply get more enjoyment from the 306 than any other product (and I have owned way too many).

Everything just sounds more natural. I really noticed it on piano recordings. If you are looking for an OUTSTANDING red book player (HDCD is a bonus... but it represents less than 10% of my collection), IMHO this is it. Period !!
