Weakness:
None I could find This CD player is a sleeper. There are very few reviews in the mainstream press but there should be. It is every bit as good if not better built than the ARC CD2 it replaced. The sound is relaxed, detailed and there is virtually no listening fatigue. I upgraded the tubes to 6H23 and it made a difference in the low level details.

Strength:
Tubey, and not too tubey! Quiet! Dynamic! Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep Bass! Warm vocal! Highs like shining stars!
Weakness:
None at this price A surprisingly good CD player for less than $3000! I was in the shop for something new after listening to a modified Denon3910 for a years. I want something more "tube like" and more musically involving, after all, life is all about trying something new, just like I traded my 2001 Nissan Pathfinder for the new Subaru Outback... The CD-100 had tubes and balanced outputs... exactly what I needed! I've had it for more than a month now and I am not sending it back. I guess it's still breaking-in but this US battleship already betters the Denon by miles. Bass and midrange has more definition and warmth, and treble is pure and extended. The tubes warm up pretty fast and really make a difference, everything is there to be touched and there's not a hint of harshness. Too bad there's not many reviews yet, but well, now I have a SUV and a CD player I can live with for another five years or so...
