Strength:

Build, Kimber reputation, good tight bass, no coloration of the midrange.

Weakness:

Highs may seem a little bright in some systems (non tube)as well as rolled off. Soundstage can be a little flat for some recordings.

I have auditioned many digital cables over the years and for the price, I have concluded that the Kimber ADGL is excellent. One of the most revealing characteristics of the cable is its speed, the music just flows with ease. It also retains a good sense of space of instruments but is lacking a little in depth in comparison to its more expensive brother, the D-60. Bass notes are quite taunt, the cable does hit the low notes without becoming muddled. I am using a Cal Alpha/Delta set-up so the AGDL does well in the midrange, producing voices without an exaggerated coloration. The treble notes are pronounced but not deafining or shrilly to the ears. A palpable prescence of the music is now apparent when played through my speakers.

Strength:

Clean and accurate, 3 pure silver conductors

Weakness:

Virtually un-shielded

Cool! I guess I should be the first one to review this because I am the one who requested this model...

This is my first digital cable and I have no regrets. Like the analog Silver Streaks I previously reviewed, the silver conductor adds purity to the signal. Add 2 more silver conductors in a braid and you get a nicely, detailed highly engaging sound. I still don't understand exactly how a coax cable works with just one cable but I'm sure glad I didn't get a silver-plated copper version. The cables that Kimber makes are so cheap!!! I recommend that you pick one up and listen for yourself. The only thing I don't like about the cable is that they don't make a WBT version. .5-meter RCA w/ Ultraplate connections.

Strength:

retreival of detail, looks pretty, comes in nice jewel box!(weak marketing ploy to make you feel like your buying something special)

Weakness:

tinny highs,attenuated bass,intermittent function(see below)no sheilding,$300 canadian for 1 metre.

I bought this cable after reading many reviews and hearing recommendations.Everyone raves that this cable does it all(tight extended bass, retreival of detail and wonderful highs)I installed this cable in my system and allowed for a long break in period before I did any serious listening. In my opinion the only thing this cable does exceed at is detail,as you will most likely hear things you didn't hear before. However,it does everything else poorly. For me it made my system unlistenable. It made highs sound ultra bright and tizzy, almost distorted. The bass thinned dramatically. It made good recordings sound bad and bad recordings made me just shut it off. This cable also made me experience something I've never had before, intermittent function. It would cut out from time to time,as if the cable was poorly soldered and was being wiggled but that wasn't the problem.I don't know if this cable has some weird interface problem with my system specifically or what but I loaned it to a friend and he experienced the same thing except for the intermittent function when used in his system.I had high hopes for this cable and was extremely disappointed. If you're considering this cable for your system, make sure the store you get it from will let you try before you buy or is cool with returns. As for me,I'm sticking with the coaxial cable that came with my Esoteric P-700 transport(Esoteric was TEAC's audiophile line of digital components that introduced the VRDS cd clamping/transport system which is still in use today by the likes of KRELL)as it sounds wonderful! If you like your highs to sound like the treble knob is cranked, this is your cable!
