Strength:

Price, performance, value.

Weakness:

Lettering along the cable doesn't look very well done.

At $15 for a .5 meter pair, I don't see how anyone could go out and spend more for Monster Cable Interlink at the mass-market stores. The Solstice III's sound very good and are a no-brainer for anyone wanting the best sounding cables for under $40 for analog interconnects. They certainly offer the best performance-to-cost ratio. And the .5m length looks clean and efficient.

After reading about Wireworld's symmetricoaxial design theory at their website and reading favorable reviews, I ended up buying their Solstice III .5m ($15) for analog. I also bought Wireworld Ultraviolet III 1m ($15) for video, and Starlight II 2m for digital ($40). The Ultraviolet and Starlight were purchased at cablecloseout.com. (Very nice people over there!)

An excellent value at a ridiculous price. The only downside it that the lettering on the cable does not look very well done, but that is only cosmetic. Acoustically, they sound very good.

Strength:

Gold plated contacts - Copper strands - Silver solder connections

Weakness:

None that I can discern

I'm no "audiophile", ok. I can, however, discern a real improvement in the sound of my system when I hear one. I had been using the cheapo cables supplied with my Denon CD player for years and never considered new interconnects until recently. For $20 bones these cables really helped to more clearly define and open up or give an airy feel to my music that wasn't there with the original cables. Now really, who can justify spending hundreds of dollars for interconnects. I'm sure diminishing return for dollars spent kicks in real quick. The childrens story "The Emperor's New Clothes" comes to mind when reading cable hype. Buy these if you need a good upgrade from original interconnects, you will be surprised.

Musical Detail/transparency, Quality construction

Not much of a wire/cable beleiver until this pair of Solstice III's. WOW! The single best upgrade to any system I've ever heard! It sounded like someone took a pillow out from in front of my speakers. I have a new Philips DVD player (940 AT) and a Rotel 35W Integrated Amp. I thought I wanted to upgrade my speakers (Pioneer CS....somethings. 3 way speakers that were a gift). I went looking for speakers and brought home and listened to the Paradigm 20's and the PSB 4T's. Neither speaker was significantly better (and no one was more surprised than I). I did several blind tests and the speakers were just not worth it to me for the very slim improvement in sound. I had a $700 speaker budget but got the upgrade I was looking for for $40. Bought a dedicated 'listening chair' and a pair of Sennheiser 580's with the difference and I still can afford a few more pairs of interconnects! What was I thinking all those years with the interconnects that came in the boxes with my components?!

Whatever barely conductive wire came with various components and a pair of useless gold tipped RCA jacks from Radio Shack.
