Strength:

Durable, silent, more push pull from the amp

Weakness:

slight hum with audio-by-pass switch when the Theta Casa Nova runs through an Audio Research LS16 during 5.1 modes, but I live in a house made in the 1930's.

I am part of an unoffical Martin Logan speaker club in the Los Angeles California area. We visit each others Martin Logan speakers & help each other improve & experiment with our audio/video systems. I first heard Synergistic Research power cords at a dealers audio/video system that had the same speakers as mine; the Martin Logan SL3. His speakers had more push & pull with the woofers & there was less noise during the silent sections of the music. Later another Martin Logan speaker owner came over to my house & pluged in his Cardias power cords into my audio/video system & again the same improvements were attained. Bought the Synergistic Research power cords because I heard that they were the best for the money & I have other Synergistic Research Bi-wires on another stereo system (Krell 300i integrated amp to NHT VT2 speakers). I use to have a hum from my Audio Research LS16 pre-amp audio-by-pass switch when my Theta Casa Nova processor played through during 5.1 modes. One day I rewired the whole system & separted the stock power cords into different surge protectors & the hum went away. Now with the new Synergistic Research power cords, the hum came back, but after 3 days of changing a wire here, moving a wire there, the hum is gone. Therefore it's not the Synergistic power cords, but powers cords in general in relation with my house's old wires. End remarks: gives more push & pull with woffers, open up my rear speakers (Martin Logan Scripts), & makes everything run quieter. JD3

Strength:

Quite background,huge soundstage,clarity,detail,bass

Weakness:

Too thick

Well another tweak and more $$$out to sonic bliss.
I thought using the Power wedges was enough.I was wrong.
I got the SRMCAC cords on to my Act 3 pre amp and both my B&K Ref 4430/4420.
After 3X 24/7 of running time, to "Break In" I sat and was very happy. All the above strength were acheived.
I wanted to initially acheive a quiter background and after the first day you will notice the diffrence. Without my line conditioner it sounded just as quiet but in my apartment the electricity is up/down so I wanted to protect my investment.
I cant recomend this cable to every one as it may have diffrent outcomes. Demo it first and you to may be amazed.
Good luck.

Last year about this time, I launched into a major upgrade of my home system. Preamp went from ModSquad Deluxe Line Drive to BAT VK-5i. Amp went from Adcom GFA-555 to McCormack 0.5 Deluxe. Interconnects went from old Monster M-1000 to Audioquest Lapis and Diamond. Speaker cables from old Monster M1 to new Monster M2.2s (bi-wired), stands for my speakers, and a Genesis Digital Lens. Yesterday, a most amazing thing happened. I replaced the standard power cables that came with the VK-5i and the McCormack amp with the Synergistic Research AC Master Couplers ($275 each list). I do not know how or why, but the improvement in sound from the change to these power cables was more dramatic than ANY OTHER SINGLE UPGRADE I had made to my system with the POSSIBLE exception of the preamp upgrade. Definitely more noticeable than any other cable changes or changes in electronics. Five Stars? No. In the words of Carl Sagan, "billions and billions of stars". An absolute no-brainer upgrade, especially at the price.

Strength:

Excellent construction, blackness/quietness, detail

Weakness:

Unweldy thickness

I purchased 3 of these used and plugged them into my CD DAC, preamp and power amp. Wow, I didn't think power cords would make this much difference. I was immediately impressed by the extra silence they afforded to my system on the whole, and I was already quite happy with my JPS Superconductor 2 speaker cables. Bass and detail both improved considerably - so much so that I could live on stereo without my REL Strata III subwoofer.

IMO, the AC Master Coupler is a fantastic power cable if you can get it used. Phenomenal value.

Power cords, they can't possibly make a difference, can they?
I'm can not believed the improvement over stock AC cords when I hooked-up to my Cal Icon MKII HDCD/Power Boss CDP.
The Master makes as big difference as good speaker cable.
This one's definitely a good upgraded.

I have tried many power cords to various degrees of improvement.(Bound for Sound)raved about TG Audio Power Cables. These cables were better than the stock cables.Ho-HummI have also tried AC filters costing in excess of $1000 and was modestly impressed.
I then installed a dedicated circuit for my sytem and after about a 2 week breakin I noticed quite an improvement in dynamics.
But the real change occurred when I tried out a Synergistic Master Coupler on just my Dac (Sonic Frontiers SFD2-MKII and was blown away !!! The power and the beauty of the music jumped out of my system. I could not believe a power cord could make such an improvement!I have since added these cords to mt Transport and Preamp, each time there was a marked improvement!

This product did absolute wonders in my system. It still amazes me what power cords are capable of doing to improve the overall sound. If you own Martin Logan speakers, try powering up your stators with these...you will be pleasantly surprised! This was not a cheap upgrade...I currently have 6 master couplers in my audio system and 3 in my home theater, but when you hear what these things can do the price will be justified. I bought one at a time starting with my sources, then pre-amp, then amps, then finally my Martin Logans. This is one product where "more" is definitely better! Hopefully you have a local dealer nearby that will let you take home one or two or six!! Enjoy.

These things pissed me off!I decided to try some upgraded AC cords to see if they really made a difference or not. One cable I tried did hardly anything. The second one (from a well respected company) made a little improvement, but not enough to make it worth paying for.

Then I tried the Synergistic AC Master coupler (on my amp) and I was amazed!
There was such an improvement in depth, bass punch, and image placement.
Now I was mad!
I knew I was going to have to have these cables (and spend lots of money)...........I couldn't stand to hear my system without them.

I'd like to warn everyone about Synergistic.
If you dare to try any of their cables you WILL have to own them.
I now have AC Master couplers and Kaleidoscope Phase One interconnects in my system.

Very recommended.

Strength:

Too many to mention!

Weakness:

Very thick. Hard to bend around corners.

I've found the Synergistic Research A/C Master Coupler to be one of the finest upgrades an audiophile can add to his/her system - and I know that's quite a thing to say! This power cord has put some of the finishing touches on my audio/home theater system.

After burn-in on my pre-amp/processor, this power cable allowed the soundstage the expand far beyond the front speakers. All sound sources (CD, DVD, etc.) have crisper hights and punchier lows. I don't know of a single sonic aspect that this cable didn't improve!

I've had great experiences with all of my Synergistic Research purchases. Each one (interconnects, speaker cables, power cord) has added some subtle and not-so-subtle touches to my system. Build quailty is first rate and customer service is friendly and knowledgable. I look forward to dealing with Synergistic again.

Though the THAT-MUCH-FOR-A-POWER-CORD! reaction is hard to take, please give this product a try. You'll be as amazed as I was.

Strength:

build quality, sound clearity, ban for the buck.

Weakness:

stiffness

I have used Synergistic Research's AC Master coupler for 7 month now; all I can say is WOW! I was using MIT Z Cord II and NBS Signature before. The MIT didn’t seem much change to my system at all. I really didn’t know the potential of my system till plug in AC Master, what a difference! It made MIT seem like child play. The sound stage is much much wider and deeper, and the tight, tight bass. Since then I've notice for low frequency in the same music that I was listening but didn’t realize it was there. The NBS is a very good build quality as well, but it just made my system sounded soooo bright, even though the bass was tighter but the sound stage was compressed. The NBS is very expensive too, I expected more out it, but...

I was only using it on my CD player (Cal CL15), I also have it on my preamp (Adcom 750) now, I could not be happier! Compare to other more expensive power cord, this give you the most result for the money.
