This is one of those products that can totally transform a music
system, in my case, open it up from top to bottom. I had already experienced
this phenomenon to some degree when I put some SPM between my Naim CDX/XPS
cd player and Blue Circle BC 3 preamp. This week I replaced the Straightwire
Virtuoso -- no mean cable itself -- between the Blue Circle and a Plinius
SA 50 and it happened all over again, this time even more dramatically. I
had been told by Nordost that the multiplyer effect works with SPM but I
took the remark "under advisement," as we say. They were right. After-
market power cords can improve a system: Electraglide Reference III
improved mine considerably. But interconnect cable like SPM can transform
it. $1100 retail may slow some of you down. It certainly turned my head.
But it you think of it as a new component -- which it is, it's actually
pretty reasonable.

The sound is too much "forward"

I thought this cable was the best, but I was wrong. I have now replaced it with Eclipse III from Wireworld. The SPM is not worth the price. The Eclipse cable is better than the SPM, gives even more detail and depth in the sound and costs less !!!

I had a custom 2 meter pair I no longer needed but wished I had two shorter pairs. So I sent them to Nordost and they cut it in half and added RCAs for about $150. So now I have two 1 meter pairs. One pair sounded the same, but the other needed breaking in again. Interesting. Cables must break in from one end or something???
But anyway these may be pricy, but they make such a huge improvement, borrow a pair and try them before you upgrade your equipment, you may find cables mean a lot more than you could imagine, especially you pro audio guys.
