Strength:

revealing, airy, tight bass, sweet mids, good extensions

Weakness:

neutral and could sound bright on some system. Also shielding issues can arise if you have dirty powerlines

I like the Nordost products. This cable has the detail without being harsh on the top end. The bass is a step up from the Nordost Solar Wind. The midrange is where this cable excels. The mids are clear, crisp, and sweet. The top have enough extensions and air but not as good as the Nordost Red Dawns. It is pricey but in terms of performance it is a good all around cable. This cable is certainly not for everyone. If your system is bright it will sound bright. It is fairly neutral cable that is why it reflects the sound of your components. My components: Rotel 1066 7 channel processor Moon Titan 5 channel amp (200 watts per channel) Rega P3 turntable Pioneer 563A cd/DVD/SACD player mated with Musical Fidelity A324 upsampling DAC. Samsung HD931 dvd player Speakers: Martin Logan Ascents, Theater i, Martin Logan Scenario Sub: Infinity HPS1000 Powerconditioner: Monster HTS1000 Link together by the Nordost lines the sound is just fantastic.

Strength:

Will help to save your overly warm and dark sounding systeem!

Weakness:

Will sound to bright if your systeem is on bright side!

I used this cable several months it is a very good cable but ONLY IF YOUR SYSTEEM IS TO DARK AND TO WARM!Otherwise if you have a neutral sounding systeem or a brightsounding systeem DONT TRY THIS CABLE!I had very good results in the time that had a very warm sounding systeem.

Strength:

Very clean , Detailed. I'm hearing more from my cd's. Sounds that I am not aware of previously are popping out everywhere right now. Very nice.

Weakness:

Not much. Bass maybe? But it'll do for me.

This is a review of the Blue Heaven speaker cable biwire version. I just got this cable last early this week and it has been just run-in about 10 hours. Previously was using Nordost Super Flatline gold and Kimber 4tc from my Classe cap-100 to the b&w cdm1se. The change is quality is like earth and heaven. Managed to test a few cd’s until late at night today and here are the results :- 1. Suzanne Vega : Previously guitar sounds real and nice. Now I can hear ‘extra’ sounds of friction between the fingers of the guitarist with the strings. Nice. Overall better control and finesse. 2. Garbage/ Republica : This is quite heavy rock stuff. Seldom listen to them for quite some time since they are rendered not listenable(especially Garbage version 2.0) as the music is so jumbled up with the vocals and background music shooting straight at you with very poor separation. With my previous Arcam 10 amp it's even worse. Now, although still noisy music but with good separation and dynamics. Instruments can be picked out from the fast and heavy background music. Just tested about 10 minutes on this cd anyway. 3. Yukie Nishimura piano pieces : Shipped this cd from Japan. Not much of a significant change in quality though but the piano sounds a little more real. Guess it must be the quality of this piece. Before I got this cable, I asked around my audiophile friends. Most of them told me not to go for this cable as the change in sound quality will be insignificant compared to the KImber 4tc. Anyhow, an advanced audiophile managed to convince me and I've put my money to good use. The difference is HUGE! I recommend this cable if your system is up to it. This cable will take you to a high-end sound if partnered with good quality components. This cable is still burning-in. Okay that’s all for now. Let us all enjoy our music!

Strength:

Clear and clean sound, good definition and open sound stage, speed.

Weakness:

A bit thin and lack of details on the very high freq. The VDH earns higher point in this area but does not make up for other areas.

Having just bought a hybrid Precision Fidelity pre-amp. I realised that the weakest link is in my AQ Coral cables between the CD player and the pre. I eventaully got the following on test: Blue Heaven, VDH The First, Monster M1000i MkIII and AQ Coral. A few settings have been tried, like connecting the CD player straight to the power amp to eliminate anything (except the cable) in between (possible using the power amp gain control to adjust the volumn). I found that my Monster (used to connect between the pre and power amp) is the best of the bunch with fantastic details and stage. Then follow by the Blue Heaven with a very clean and detail sound. To my surprise, the worst is the VDH (in my system anyway). It has good details but the sound stage is restricted and does not sound natural (I did not use it between the amps as it is an unbalanced cable). With lots of tube gear, I found that connecting the Blue Heaven between the CD player and pre and use the Monster between the pre and power amp is my best option at present.

Strength:

Relaxed sound, would be ideal for elevator music. And mid-fi systems.

Weakness:

Complete lack of life, muffeld sounds, limited sound range, no detail compared to other cables, bad price vs quality.

I got this cable from a local dealer on a trail basis. After six year of listening to a Oelbach Heavenly Sound Cable I knew this was the weakest link in my system. I got three cables from this dealer, The Siltech New York, Nordost Blue heaven and the NBS Dragon Fly. And I must say after listening to all the cables and comparing them to my old cables the Nordost is by far the worst. The lack of detail, bass, high, midrange was a deception for me, as I read all the rave reviews below. The only thing positive I can say about this cable is that there was an absolute lack of agression. It was the most relaxed cable execpt for the NBS.

Strength:

This is what cables should "sound" like. Less expensive than red dawns.

Weakness:

More expensive than solar winds.

I use blue heaven cables throughout my system and they do exactly what I want a cable to do: get out of the way. My system sounds great with these cables in place. Everything just sounds so much cleaner and more open than with the other cables I've tried (various models from MIT, Audioquest, and Straightwire). The entire frequency range sounds very well balanced and detailed. At full retail prices, the blue heavens are a bit overkill for my system, if you can find them used like I did ($100 for interconnect, $350 for speaker cables), the price is much more reasonable. The bottom line is, I'm super satisfied with the performance, and I don't feel like I wasted money on them. Strength:

Transient response, cleans the bass and midrange up. I don''t know many systems that can''t be improved here. If it makes your system too bright then try the Solar Wind or ideally, if you can biamp, then use Blue Heaven for the bass and Solar Wind for the Tweeter.

Weakness:

A little thin on top, but if your system needs that, then it is a strength.

I think most people here have a handle on the qualities of these wires. They can be thin sounding in some systems, but they always improve the transient response in the bass. This results in more apparent rhythm. It''s really a matter of equipment matching. I would never use Blue Heaven with a CD player that is already bright unless my preamp is too dark. You get the idea... Something I would consider in my system is to use Blue Heaven wires to my bass driver, to improve the bass definition, and Solar Winds to the tweeter to smooth the highs. I have actually used Blue Heavens between my CD player and my Levinson amp and Solar Winds to my Quads and the results were very good... The Blue Heavens allowed a cleaner signal to pass through the electronics without much degradation and the Solar Winds countered the thinness of the Blue Heavens resulting in the best sound I have heard in my system. About ten years ago I discovered what wires can do in a system and I am thrilled to see that so many other people have discovered it too. Frankly, I''ve heard $2,000 systems blow away $30,000 systems because of the wires. One last point and the most important point... There is no best wire, it''s really a matter of what works with your equipment. Even wire at 50 cents per foot can be better than the best cable, "if it''s right for your system".

Too many to mention, but I think all this wire is over priced... On the plus side, wire can transform an "OK" system to one that makes you drool. It can have tremendous effects on soundstaging, depth

Strength:

economical extended frequency & dynamic response

Weakness:

1) noticeable EMI & RFI
2) bifocal imaging

No matter where I placed these one meter cables in the sound stream I heard 2 distinct images. The micro-second delay was distracting on my Maggies. It smeared my DIY quad-polar quasi 3-way speakers' entire image into an artificial laidback ambience. It disembodied the midrange in my DIY monopole real 3-ways.

Strength:

dynamics,soundstage

Weakness:

lack of timbral detail and a coldness perceived almost in any record..

Almost everything previously written about these cables is true,it is interesting that no one pointed out the lack of midrange and treble detail. They're only good at bass detail... I think many guys here confuse lush treble with detail..Yeah, though I can't deny the blue heavens have appreciably improved the dynamics, bass control and soundstage in my system, timbral flavor of individual instruments is now lost when compared to the Transparent MusicWave Biwires, my previous cables ($400/8ft pair). The transparents were a bit rolled off at the treble department, yet i could hear the details of the cymbals being played with brushes, which is now unfortunately a pleasure in the past thanks to the Blue Heavens..

These cables are not neutral..They're blue....I see you can't get a white cable for $550...If you're not happy with $400 cables probably you must spend $1000, maybe even higher
