Strength:

Clarity and speed

Weakness:

Alittle bright but most budjet systems need alittle life anyway.

I think this cable is fantastic with budjet equipement. I immediatly noticed clearer highs and speed to the music. I din't think they are fof a bright system. Partner them with entry level stuff and wow you ereally hear improvements. I have upgraded to very expensive cables but still keep these guys around for secondary roles sucj as my multi disc player, tape deck, vcr. That's saying alot. For me nordost are the best cables money can buy up to red dawn. Buy these withput reservation, improvements will be heard, great cable.

Strength:

Clarity, detail, and dynamic

Weakness:

noisy, and could be bright with certain systems. Partner carefully

I bought these audio interconnect cable to replace or upgrade my systems' 5.1 wiring and replace my Monster reference grade cable. I bought these wire because they are recommended buy from the magazine What Hi-Fi. I did not really care for these much after a week of listening. Luckily, my dealer has been kind enough to allow me to replace them with Straighwire's Level 2 Chorus. Here is what I did not like about them. They are particularly bright with my system. They also added a hisssss sound to my system. This is very evident when you play Diana Krall. When she stops singing, in the background you hear hissss. I agree with some of the comments here that these are detailed, dynamic and warm sounding but in my experience, they can also add noise to your system. I could not convince myself that they were worth the $80 per 1 meter cost. I do not recommend these interconnect.

Strength:

Excellent Bass, Excellent musical dynamics 10 times better than the Monster reference 2

Weakness:

Cats chew on it so I have a whole drawer full of nordost products I bought in Abu Dhabi and Dubai(UAE)

I am furious that they do not sell these in an obtainable place in Minnesota. All the sound that is outputted from the HDTV decoder, DVD Player, and Xbox play on the stereo. Flatline speaker cables are the exact same thing as a Black knight interconnect. Electronics stores are extremely obnoxious to hide this product from consumers.

Strength:

Fast and bright, a lot of energy to the music.

Weakness:

Not as full on the low end.

I recently purchased an Arcam Alpha 8R integrated amp to use with my Acoutic Energy Aegis One speakers and Denon DCM-370 CD changer. It was very disappointing that no clarity, no brightness was there. So I decided to investigate cables.

I tried the Nordost Solar Wind and that didn't seem to really do anything and then decided, just for reference purposes, to try the Nordost Black Knight. Wow!! The system came alive and the detail, energy and soundstage I was looking for appeared. The trade-off with these cables seems to be a limited low end. So, I am going to try Kimber PBJ's (for economy reasons and good reviews) and see what "gels" with those. But the Black Knights are definitely a big plus and a very cost-effective addition. Definitely worth looking at if you want to brighten your system.

Strength:

Neutral, clear, clean

Weakness:

Slightly bright

Audiophile friend 'donated' me a pair of Blue Heaven's as my first forray into high end audio. Bought the Black Knights to complement them. Works very well in my system.

Especially vocals; they just blow you away. Annie Lennox has never sounded so sweet! Same for Sade.

Wouldn't suggest these cables if you're into hard rock or techno. They won't cut it. But Jazz, Blues, Pop that's their cup of tea.

This cable requires system matching. For instance, if you want to bring out detail in a Vandersteen speaker, this is the cable for you. Yes they sound harsh compared to the Audioquest ruby's but they are great for laid back speakers.

Strength:

crisp,transparent, natural midrange

Weakness:

thin bass

These cables are crisp and transparent but the bass is a little too light for my system. I like PBJ's better as they have punchier bass.

Strength:

Musical, better bass impact.

Weakness:

None at this price point

I put those between my 2 Arcam 8 amps and between my MSB DAC and pre-amp. I found them a lot "cleaner" and musical than the rest of what I have tried. I find them rather good.

I am in the process of auditioning a pair of these cables. The dealer in my area (Audio Concepts in Long Beach) had a well broken-in 1.5m pair, and after I mentioned that my MIT Interconnect 2's sound a bit bass-heavy and processed, let me try the Black Knights. One word describes them: TRANSPARENT. Even though these are the lowest priced interconnects from Nordost, they convey a sense of invisibility that is astonishing at this price point. As of today the MIT's are getting sent back, and I am picking up a 1m pait of the Black Knights. While I would love to have Nordost's Blue Heavens or Red Dawns, I'm not sure if my current system would benefit much from the additional resolution.
BTW, after spending some serious break-in time with the MIT's, I would have to agree with reviews I have read on this site. They are fairly overrated.

System Breakdown:
Musical Fidelity X-A1 integrated amp
Yamaha CDC-565 CD changer
Paradigm Mini-Monitors
Tributaries SP4 speaker cables
MIT Terminator 2 interconnects (bye bye)
Nordost Black Knight Interconnects (welcome to the system)
