Basically it's all been said here except one thing. Nice cable for the money that definitely makes a difference... but break these in for ATLEAST 200 hrs of playing before making a judgement. Out of the box brand new they sound like crap. I almost took them back but having a knowledgeable dealer always helps. I didn't believe in the cable break in period stuff before these but it sure makes a big difference. These cables will provide very detailed highs and execellent midrange detail

Been happily using this interconnect between a Marantz cd67se -musical fidelity x10d.. tween the x10d and an Adcom GTP450 then to 4 Marantz MA500's in a bi-amp configuration driving Paradigm Studio 60's. The 60's are connected with MITerminator5 speaker cable. I've been reading all the reviews of various pricey interconnects and getting wire envy. Just couldn't bring myself to spend the $100. or so apiece required to get a significantly better connecters (I already have $300 invested in the 6 m550i's). Found some plans on the web for some DIY silver signal tape and was intrigued. They cost about $15. a pair to build. Hang on to your headphones.... They easily blow the doors off the monsters! No contest, sweeter more extended highs, cymbals shimmer more soundstage, tighter bass. They need about 20 hours to fully break in but zowie~ Two friends I had over for listening tests easily could tell the difference.. and I've only replaced the pair between CD player and X10d! Can't wait to finish the other 5 pairs. M550i's 3 stars .. DIY hi yo Silvers .. 5 stars

I love these cables!I use them to connect my BK REF20 to my ATI1505 and my Sony 7700.I actally compared both triutaries and audioquest cables with them and the soundstaging and clarity was better with the 550I's.PLUS I got them 12 off!

This is a great cable for the money. The only other cable that you should audition in this price range would be the Audioquest Turquoise. I have only heard the Jade and compared to the 550i the Jade is more detailed and equally acurate, but the soundstage on the 550i is larger. I presume that since the turquoise is a step up from the Jade that it should be a closer competitor to the 550i.

Strength:

appearance of quality, price

Weakness:

lack of detail, overall dynamics

Frankly I was shocked to hear the results of these cable when I hooked them to my second audio only system in my bedroom. The first thing I noticed is that these cable did not have nearly the grip of the interlink 200's that they were replacing, they would slide right off if given the opportunity. I used these cable between my cd player and reciever. My reciever, being an older sony es model does not have an optical input, and besides I prefered to use the dac in the 20es cd player, and thus considered the cables between the two to be an inportant link. I had been happy with the sound with the interlink 200's but was looking for improvement with the upgrade to the 550i's. Upon hookup I notice an immediate loss in detail, highs were definately supressed, and bass seemed muddy. i jumped up after listening to several tracks and switched the cables back to the 200's, and of course the dynamics returned. I know have to question the integrity of mc products and will begin to look elsewere

Strength:

affordable, quality build

Weakness:

none so far at this price point

I thought I would upgrade my rear channel amp's cable with something a little better than an average cable. I was impressed with the M550i, as the surround sound has improved and the clarity is improved as well. I don't watch too many movies, but I thought I needed to improve the sound a bit. These cables did the trick. I am not too well educated when it comes to cables and things of that nature, but I can notice a big difference in the sound, so that is a good thing. All in all, for 50 bucks you can't go wrong with this cable.
