I use these cables from my Denon 3200 receiver to my Mission 734 speakers and my 73c center speaker. They made a huge difference in the bass.I replaced 16 gauge Monster wire and feel the 1.4's were a good investment.

I agree with Chris from NC about the low end with these cables. They are just plain flat and muddled in the bass and lower mid range. The upper mids and highs do not open up with the detail they ought to have for $225. They are more or less a step up from basic cables. You can certainly (ie. sure as hell better) get a lot more for your money. I'm taking these back to Sound Advice and trying a double run of DH Labs T-14 and/or the JPS Ultraconductor. The price of those are in the same ballpark as the Monsters but I hope to hear a lot more out of them. My Leagacy Signature III speakers will definitely let you know if you have a problem in the signal path with respect to bass. These cables just don't get it done.
My system:

Legacy Signature III speakers
Wright Audio L-1 Preamp (tubes)
Rotel 855 CD Player modified by Cary Audio with tubes on output stage
Legacy Audio (Coda Continuum)Solid State Amp
Kimber PBJ interconnects

Strength:

great value

Weakness:

none so far

what adifference these cables make!
vocals are more alive and lifelike, much more detail
in the highs, and overall they have more warmth than other
cables i have tried.

definitely worth the 210.00, its almost like totally
different speakers.

Strength:

Fabulouse build, a great way to biwire - all in one. Certainly sounds fine

Weakness:

None yet....

Well, I have reviewed the concept of high end wires for about a year now. What I find interesting is that only the manufacturers really recommomend anything beyond lamp cord -no suprise, eh? One distributor of a high end cable actually said that there is no difference between cheap and high end, and that I would not hear a difference - and since he was a limited distributor, this says much!! But, he did say that I would convince myself that they did sound better, after spending a couple of hundred bucks. Gee, what a recommendation. (3) suppliers I contacted said there is no benifit to high ends. And, one Theater Hi-fi book all but trashed any cable beyond lamp cord - saying that all this cable hype is proven zilch.

Now, high ends do offer some advantages. (1) they are othen shielded (this product - I don't know), so as to screen out electrics from other wires. (2) they eliminate the potential problem of stray wire strands crossing between contact points, which would cause major damage to the amp. And (3), their gold, sealed ends should keep corrosion to a minimum.

So, why did I buy these? Well for the reasons in the last paragraph and because for $200, wanted to make sure I was missing nothing. After all, for bywires, this price is pretty reasonble.

Have just installed, and they seem fine, better than the old Radioshacks - hmmmm, not sure yet. So, I will burn these guys in (which all that I have read is a total joke) and give a review soon. If you have any feedback, please email me at skyhawk182@aol.com
