I finally got digital cable. The receiver my cable company uses is the scientific altanta explorer model 3000.
I tried the composite rca audio out into my JVC-888 receiver for sound. It was so-so.
I then checked on the back of the cable reciever and noticed one digital audio output(digital coaxial cable).
I went to my local Stereo store and was encouraged to try digital coaxial cable. I purchased monster cable datalink100 cable-13.1ft for $60.00. Hooked it up to my digital input into my reciever and was blown away by the superb sound in digital audio-clear, no distortions. I highly recommend to anyone to use digital cable input on your reciever to get the best possible sound from the latest digital broadcast technology. I am very happy with
the result. I am now using my reciever to its full potential for what it was designed for , recieving clear digital
sound .
