I purchased this conditioner based on a review by Robt. Harley in The Absolute Sound. I bought it with a 30 day return privilage from AudioAdvisor. Well to make a long story short, I have no intention of sending this item back. For the price its a world beater, in addition to surge protection (Which thank G-d I have no experience yet) it delivers a very quiet noise floor, and enhances the lows in a very desirable way. An added benefit is its ability to also filter the inbound F.M. signal, which is priceless to me as an advid F.M. listerner. This is a real no brainer, try it, you'll like it!!

Strength:

12 AC outlets

Weakness:

Awkward size/shape

After reading some reviews, I got one hoping it would give some kind of improvement to my HT. To my disappointment, it did nothing noticible. Cable TV still looks a bit grainy and fuzzy on certain channels. As far as I can tell, the video and sound of the HT didn't change any. I guess I'm one of those people who don't benefit from this over-glorified surge protector, nor did it adversely affect the setup. I'll give this a low rating for value and an average rating overall just because it did not do anything detrimental.

Associated equipment:

27" low-definition panasonic tube TV (will replace one of these days)
Denon AVR-3802 AV receiver
Panasonic DVD-RP91K DVD video/DVD audio/CD player
Pioneer DVL-909 Laser Disc player
VCR
Acoustic Research AR3 mains (nice built in subs)
Acoustic Research AR2C center
Polk Audio f/x 500i surrounds
Home-grown CAT5 speaker cables (so many blisters making these)
IXOS interconnects
All electronics on a Bell'O AVSC-2103 TV stand (nice)
...oh yeah, Monster HTS-2000 power conditioner

To be quite honest I notice no real difference in anything. I have a RCA F38310 HDTV and was hoping to see a big defference in picture quality but see absolutley none. I also have a Toshiba SD9200 DVD player and notice no difference in picture quality with that either. As for 5.1 setup unfortunatly I have a Bose lifestyle 12 (I bought this 4 years ago if I was buying now I would not even look at bose, although it's better than most all in one box units) the sound is exactly the same from what I hear.

The best thing about this power conditioner is that it acts as an upgrade for your whole system. The results truly are
night and day,it puts a huge floor under the bass, and just
tightens up everything.More depth,crispness,and liquidity.
This product and the TDS-II I bought at Audio Advisor are
the best all around improvements you can make for under a
grand.

Yeah baby! This product works exactly how it claims it will. I was not ready for the level of improvement this $200 toy did for my system, thinking that virtually no product works as well as it is advertised. My AC power line must have been filty! Every frequency was clearer and more fluid at every loudness level. The bass was tighter and deeper. Midrange was less "in your face". The highs were more clean sounding. I believe this is the "most for your money" improvement you can make. The unit is worth $200 just on it's ability to supress power spikes alone. I do not have my television hooked up to the conditioner, so I can not tell you how it works for the sharpness of the picture. A friend of mine bought a Monster HTS 2500, I did not notice any changes in his television. I rate this upgrade five speakers for audio purposes only.
My system:
Adcom GTP 450 preamp
Adcom GFA 5500 amplifier
Acoustic Research 308 HO speakers, biwired
Cerwin Vega 150 watt powered sub
Pioneer PD-M552 CD player
Monster HTS 2000 line conditioner
Nothing special speaker wire

Monster Cable HTS-2000 Power Conditioner
This power conditioner was the icing on the cake to my system! I have a very simple but hi-end system and did not want to spend big bucks for a power line conditioner.
The Spectron Digital power amp now sounds like the $15,000 Krell Mono Blocks that I almost purchased.

Equipment: Spectron Musician 300 watt Digital amp
CAL Audio CD- CL-15 digital
No pre-amp
Nordost Blue Heaven cables and interconnects
Monster Cable HTS 2000 power conditioner
Speakers: AR9LS
Speakers: Martin Logins with Sub

I actually initially purchased a cheaper monster coditioner, however after reading the review in the ABSOLUTE SOUND,I had to check the 2000 out.Oh boy did I check it out!Right away I Noticed the soundstage was bigger and the highs were smoother, also the video side improved.I noticed brighter colors and black was black!AT the price ,you can't beat the performance.TO ALL YOU MONSTER HATERS THAT ARE READING THIS, "DON'T HATE THE PLAYER HATE THE GAME.

I bought this just because of the rave reviews and I was worry about not having any protection for my gear. I must say I was very surprize when I could tell the differents with in a matter of seconds. I have since told my friends to get one as soon as possible. I always wanted a conditioner but did not want to spend that much on one. This thing is a best buy! The detail I now hear in when listening to my gear is wonderful. One of the best things I ever did to my system to improve it, worth every penny. I gave only 4 stars because I don't know much about conditiners but know when something is a great product.

Strength:

Well Constructed, Clean Stage 2 Line Filtering

Weakness:

Only 2 outlets for High Current Amps, lights on front are BLINDING Bright! Manual SUX, Website is all hoopla with no real technical facts about the unite.

After reading good and bad reviews on the HTS power line conditioners I thought would go ahead and try one... Circut City had a 30 day return policy on the unit so I started off with a HTS 1000. No high current amp outlets, back to the store it went. Then picked up a HTS-2500. Right away I noticed a nice improvement on the video from my Sony DVD Player/Sony 53" projection TV. On the audio side I had to listen for awhile as I was unsure if there was an improvement or degradation in the sound quality. On my system it seems to have improved the imaging and soundstage but it also seems to have rolled off the high's a bit and increased the base just a tiny bit. It really took me awhile listening to different CD's and then going back to just the old Acme Surge protector to tell the difference. I think this will be a personal taste/system dependant issue. Worth the Money? Questionable... I have to pick up another one for 2 other amps I am using and thinking about trying an ADCOM ACE unit to see if there was a difference/better.

Bottom line? I would spend the money upgrading components/speakers/cables and buy this as the LAST item and make sure you get a 30 day return policy on the thing that way you can see for yourself if it works for you or not. Overall aside from the blinding bright lights on the front I am satisified with the unit. They are definatly cheaper online... Just do a www.yahoo.com search on Monster HTS2500 and you'll find them in the $165.00 range.

Strength:

Solid Construction, lots of outlets

Weakness:

Turned my Hi-Fi into a Lo-FI

After reading several farorable reviews on this product and the fact that Monster Cable garantees and insures that your your equipment will not get fried while using it I purchase a new HTS-2000. I used this AC conditioner strictly for my stereo system (Rega Planet 2000 CD, Rogue Audio 99 Preamp, Merlin VSM speakers, McCormack DNA125 amp). I immediately noticed a collapse of the soundstage and loss of air around voices and instruments. At first I thought that it was just me since I had been away on vacation for two weeks and not listened to my system for a while before hooking up the unit. But after several hours of comparison and as much as I wanted to hear an improvement using this AC filter I came to the same conclusion. Do not use this thing if you have a revealing audio system. Whatever it filters out of the AC current is the stuff that makes my music sound good. I am selling it on EBay right. Any takers.
