Strength:

Sounds damn good to me, cheap, cool lookin weave

Weakness:

none yet

Well I just recently bought 120' (for the price of 100' @2.40/foot) set up 5 speakers for a guy I know, then brought what was left home and did my fronts and center with the leftovers... so I ended up stripping 8 wires per end * 2 ends * 8 speakers = 128 wires..not fun, and those little plastic bits stripped off the ends were all over the place! It sounds a lot better than whatever was on buddies before and on mine too. It came highly recommended by the guy in the shop and I think his judgement is sound. I think they are pretty damn cool looking though..if only I could pick the colors :)

Bandwidth, puts through whole freqency range.

How cable can make a difference! I wasn`t aware that speaker cable can make one. After reading that it can, I started to look for some decent (not to expensive) speakercable. I went to an online hifishop and saw the Kimber 4PR wich was good priced and had some awards from hifi magazines. Then I went to this site and also here (the consumers) say that the cable is good. AND it IS! I was using cheap powercable, after installing the Kimber 4PR there was an immediate earopener. The sound is more balanced and has a better 3D soundstage (there`s more depht in sound). My cheap powercable couldn`t handle high volumes, then it sounded like the cable was drowning in the sound wich has to be transported through it. That means there is a loss of detail. The new Kimber 4PR doesn`t drown! Detail isn`t lost. Example: There is music with 5 instruments, one of them plays loudest. Cheap powercable `only` transports the loudest instrument, Kimber 4PR transports all in full detail. Also at lower volume settings the sound is still very detailed, you can still here the small instruments at the background. Bass sounds more full and thight. Highrange is more crispy. Voices, DAMN the voices sound great! I`m very happy that I did bought them. ( price paid: $70 / 12m=40ft).

Strength:

low price, excellent sound

Quite simply, if you're still using basic wire, BUY THESE CABLES! Before trying them, I didn't doubt the value of good cables, but I was surprised at how big an improvement could be had for so little money. Even in my budget-level system (NAD, Marantz, B&W), the improvement in sound quality between a decent grade of zip cord and the 4PR's was dramatic.
These are an excellent "bang-for-the-buck" component that WILL improve your system.

Strength:

Low cost, high durabiliyt, good looks

Weakness:

Have to terminate them yourself

I'm using the Kimber Kable 4PR for my surrounds, so I don't notice too much magic with these cables. But for the low price, they are very sturdy and durable and will probably last many many years. The 4PR replaced some Monster Cable XP which was totally falling apart.

I had to terminate these myself with a soldering iron (with the Kimber Kable bananas that cost $10, adding to the price) because the dealer was too lazy to do it for me at the shop. That's the only part I didn't like about my purchse.

Strength:

Clarity, price, longevity, everyone hears the difference, Cheap upgrade that makes Monster look/sound like crap!

Weakness:

Bare wire termination is a little on the thick side when trying to fit into those little holes in the receiver and speakers but well worth the effort once they're in. Try soldering if you move your stuff around a lot.

I bought these to upgrade the performance of a Vector Research satellite system about 5 years ago in college at UCSC. Kimber Kable goes from receiver to sub and then from sub to satellites. The difference in sound is definitely more than audible, people think my sh*t sounds cleaner than theirs and it does! Yeah it looks funny but I have friends that have spent thousands on equipment and they are still in shock when they hear my now ancient system. I haven't upgraded anything in a couple of years because it's indestructible and keeps sounding good everyday...Get some!

Strength:

Bass is tight, deep but not overblown. got good rhythm but never too bright.

One of the greatest tweak that i had done for my system, this cable gave me deep but not overblown bass, unlike my gamma 6003 which gave very light bass. great overall value for your money.

It doesn't cost much more to wire your speakers right. I'm on a pretty tight budget, and the Kimber 4PR speaker cables work great. They're $1.25/foot (although my local dealer raised them to $1.60/foot now), and unless you need 50 or 100 feet, they are affordable for even entry level listeners. Even if you have a psice of junk receiver and mediocre speakers, the $20 investment is better cable is worth it, and very competitive even with Monster 12 guage. I'd love to buy Kimber interconnects, but simply can't afford them, but it's nice to have something of quality I can afford. Recommended.

I have a Yamaha/Paradigm system and I wasn't all that happy with the musical performance I was getting. It was great for HT, but I quickly became fatigued when listening to music. At higher volumes I would be literally driven out of the room by some albums. At first I blamed the harshness of the sound on the reputation for brightness that Yamaha and Paradigm have. In desperation, I figured I might as well try upgrading from my Radio Shack cables. I really didn't think it would make much difference since the R.S. cables were a decent gauge and I didn't put much stock in higher priced cables.
Wrong! There was an immediate and dramatic improvement in sound. The harshness was gone! The highs were still crystal but they weren't piercing. The mids were clearer and the bass is stronger. I can't believe the improvement. I now consider my system quite musical.

I haven't tried other cables, so it's kind of hard for me to give a rating. But considering I got 20' of cable for $28 and for this I feel I got a whole system upgrade, I have to give it 5 stars.

Strength:

Clarity, control, imaging and balance

Weakness:

Kimber 4PR has such good control that the first listen gives the impression that it has slowed the dynamics of the music.

Tring different speaker cables is akin to trying to pick the best cologne. It becomes extremely difficult to find one that stands out as they seem to blend together.

However, after repeated efforts I decided on the Kimber 4PR for my home theater/music center with favourable results.

The test results were as follows. The Solstice lacked soundstaging, the Audioquest silver speaker cable was very disappointing at $7/ft Cdn as it was quite grainy and thin sounding. The XLO was quite good for movies (the Matrix was excellent with an impressive soundstaging that almost reached to the rear speakers). However, it seemed too smooth for music and at $6/ft and my need for 3, 10 ft lengths plus plugs meant my budget was going to be exceeded.

The Kimber 4PR's came in around $2.40/ft Cdn plus quality Daltron plugs. It is a VERY CAPABLE speaker cable sounding as good for Dolby Digital movies as it does for my assorted rock/pop music.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for the price.

(Just note they are a bit thick and cumbersome with the braid and are a boring dark brown in colour.)

My system is:
Marantz 880 Dolby Digital receiver
Tannoy M3's fronts, MC center channel and M1's for rears.
Toshiba SD-2109 DVD Player
Pioneer 504 Laserdisc Player
Energy ES-10 Subwoofer
