Strength:

Stay away from this guy he has become a con artist, too bad a good thing gone bad, very sad.

Weakness:

Kiss your$$ goodbye

To give credit where credit is due when Mr Scoot Hall is not high nor drung he knows how to make fanatstic cables that's not the issue. that wa sin the 90's now fast forward into the last couple of years . . .
The issue is his addiction is such that he lies and stills (for his probably chemical addiction ), theat his buyers like caddle teling us what we want to hear and taking moey up front with the story I just came out of jail story or by hi "bitter divorce story"or his Son in jail soty as you can see Mr William Scott Hall is not short on imagination here what he is is short on honesty and good business ethics and values.

If you find cable of him made and can snatch it for a few hundred bucks very good cable.
Now give him an order now. . . just feeding this poor poor man's addiction and dilusions . . .

Be aware good supplier turned scam artist, no going back here.

Sorry to writhe this as is is true.
He got me on a repeat order of cables, discover his cables and liked them , now when i went back for more . .. . well . . money I paid no cbales came to me . .. ever . . . .

Hope this helps keeping yo from bering ripped off like me.

Peace;
P.P.

Strength:

when he wants to and use the right materials, he can buikld very wonderful cables I strongly suggest to stay away form him until he gets over hismany personal hurdles that seem to promote his desire for fraud and stilling.

Weakness:

Sadly I do believe Mr Scott Hall times as a businessman are over, he mudded his own good name by taking people's money and fraud

As I have reviewd these cbale sbefore I am obliged to post on the status again.
Ordered and prepaid Scott Hall or William Scott Hall as his real name is, he is the fonder and designer of Electra Glide Cables,'The following order of cables he decided to use low quality components not thee real high end stuff more like home depot electric department stuff.

The last time I gave him an order to help develop business with him overseas and help him with his man personal problems he flat out took my money and changed his telehone number and moved away . .
Only contact through e-mail in which he says he will send cables next week,
That has been already almost 3 months worth of next weeks shipment.
ALso nto to my surprise I rad in Audiogon that he took otehr peoples money as well.

Mr. Scott Hall is a man with severe mental and perhaps addiction issues of chemical dependecies, that he needs to address before he becomes credible again.
If you run through him and he tells you his problems and bad divorce and depressions and etc. etc. welcome to the club Scott has been working that angle for more than 2 years as I learn from a reputation Audio dealer in Atlanta area.

Meantime I am going to pray for him as I believe thsi poor man needs a lot of help.
but also we need to warn possible candidtaes to ot fall for the same trick.
It took my $$

Strength:

Sound quality, gets out of the way completely best suited with ultra transparent systrem where it will shine.
Very well balanced cbale that shows off all the bottom end extension, top end silkyness, mids with pinpoint acuracy space cues and a lot of air around the instruments, as kuch as your components will reproduce.

Weakness:

Although not a weakness in reality it does not ground components only neutral and hot wires are connected, not the ground, the designer claims thta brings down the noise floor sometimes introduced by stray currents in ground cables.

Certainly will not be guilty for causing ground loop hums, etc. So maybe not a weakness but a strength??? You decide.

A little hard to bend when components are close to a wall, hard to twist, like most otehr thick cables.

The new generations of Electra Glide cables (since I can't speak of the older models) are exquisite, the bottom end is well defined without being forceful, very tight and deep, tuneful, the mids have the right bloom and escitement, I have necver heard that power cables that enhance the stage or deep etc. I have however heard power cables that kill the perception of space cues.
This one does promote whatever your equipment can give it will not harm it in any way. the top end is presneted silky and lively, probably working best with tube amplifiers.

I used the Leectraglides with Threshold amplifier, DK design group Integrated, Audible Ilusions preamp, also Classée, and otehr source components to much luck and luscious results.
They are delicious cables that need to be carefully paired to teh best electronics, it won't make a bad DAC o preamp or amp sound miraclously good.

I do Believe the designer had an Epiphany when he deigned these cables Epiphany X 3 and Synapses are trmendous power cables,
In a world full of 'artists" that calim their cabels are the best, we finally find a product that it does what it claims, very good.
After trying the Kimber Power Kords wigtha certain level of luck on the PK-10 Gold, I also did not particularly did not like the PK-14, nor the Shunyata lesser snakes (venom, diamondback, etc.) the larger snakes Python and Anaconda to be very good also at their price range.
Other cables tried were from horrible to no effect whatsoever same as a regular power cord you buy for $3 in teh electris cuopply store.

The fit and finish of thsi cable is really good, one detail to take into consideration is that they do not connect ground, so if your component must be grounded for whatever the reason, this particualr cabel won't do it.
Other than that I just notec my Sunfire Cinema grand does not have a grounding leg for the electric connection (200 x 5) so I would imagine most amps will not need grounding either.

Hope this helps a litle but.

Strength:

Light weight, very flexible, improves sound over stock cords.

Weakness:

Cost is FAR out of proportion to quality.

This review is for the Electraglide Fatboy 2000 ($1700). The cable was tried on a tube power amp and a solid state power amp. Direct A/B comparison was made to PS Audio Lab II ($450) and Synergistic Active A/C Master Coupler ($450) by replacing cables back and forth. All cables also received power through Monster power filters. Compared to the Synergistic on the tube amp, the ElectraGlide Fatboy 2000 offered a little more smoothness and resolution, but suffered in midbass and soundstage which were notably better on the Synergistic. The Fatboy sounded somewhat thin and "nasal" by comparison and I chose the Synergistic cable. Compared to the PS Audio Lab II on a solid state system, the results were similar to those for the tube amp except that the PS Audio also sounded a little smoother and had a fuller lower midrange. I chose the PS Audio for this application over the ElectraGlide. The ElectraGlide cable does improve the sound of equipment over stock power cords, but doesn't compete well against newer, lower priced designs from other manufacturers

Strength:

Very detailed and transparent

Weakness:

Difficult to bend. Twists in only two directions

The Mk2 and 3 versions are one of the best cords on the market.New companies are finally catching up ie,Shunyata power snakes. You can't go wrong with these cords. The owner Scott Hall is a jerk but the cords are GREAT! Anyone who writes a negative review on these cords should see a psychiatrist. Get them on the used market. They seldom appear but you can save alot of money.

I have to agree with the last listeners opinion. I had problems with the same cable in my system. When I contacted Scott Hall (He said he was the Owner and he also answers the phone) he proceeded to tell me that I should by better equipment, and that was the problem. I noticed how he submitted a review of his own product to improve his rating, I see why he needs to.

After being very dissatisfied at the performance of the standard ($600) ElectraGlide power cord, I was told to give the MKIII a try because they were selling them brand new at 45% off. I figured it was a good deal so, I'd give it a try. It was only marginally better then the standard fair. You'd be better off to spend you money somewhere else.

Strength:

Detailed,focused,good bass extension

Weakness:

Difficult to bend at plud due to ribbon desinn

Absolutely one of the best power cords that DO make a difference. Mr Hall is difficult to work with and probably suffers from who knows what. His personality changes depending on the day. His power cords are great and should be auditioned. They make as big a difference as a major upgrade. The higher the resolution of one's stereo the better the impact of the cable.

Strength:

Takes control of the bass. Vocals are THERE musically as well as very palpable. Liquid resolution. Very organic presentation (natural - not in your face).

Weakness:

Break-in is a bit of a sonic rollercoaster ride. Do your serious listening after at least 7 days of continuous burn-in.

I first purchased Electra Glide's power cords (1 Ref. Glide and 1 Std. Electra Glide) about 18 months ago. Like them alot but got the usual urge to try other cords and cones per the game. At the beginning of this year I purchased a pair of Merlin TSM speakers and a Cary integrated. Have it all connected with Cardas Golden Ref. (per Merlin's Bobby Palkovich's suggestion), but was not happy when I tried their power cords. Shunyatas were an improvement but their sound was (to my ears) highly colored. Almost all of my reference cd's sounded as if they were mastered in the same studio by the same engineer. Beguiling at first, but the smoothness seemed somewhat artificial. Not to bash Shunyata... I probably could have lived happily ever after with them if I had not called Scott Hall. I wanted to know about his upgrade service for the Ref. Glide. After auditioning the Power Snakes I tried the Ref. Glide (an earlier version) in my system and was VERY pleased with what I heard. Bass was deeper and more under control (tighter even in triode mode!). The soundstage stabilized with a formerly grayish background becoming much blacker. Being a glutton I wanted to hear what the new Ref. Glide 2000s sounded like. I went for the upgrade. At the same time I traded my other pc and the difference for a second Ref. Glide. The first 45 minutes in my system was quite an event. The cord's good qualities shone thru almost immediately. Bass was deeper than what I thought the Merlins were capable of. Tube liquidity was happening in a big way. Air and world-class resolution. Then it all changed. One day it's a little closed in. Another day dull. Next forward and bright. Called Scott Hall (I was getting concerned) and he calmly explained to me that by day 5 or 6 of the burn-in the cords would come back around. Turned out to be on the 7th day. And it just keeps getting better. The music I'm hearing is the most balanced sound I've ever heard in my living room. Live recordings (with the right microphone placement) are able to fill my room with the ambience and size of the venue that totally enthralls one. All of this is presented in a manor that is as close to neutral as I've ever experienced. Lets the good qualities of each piece of equipment come thru and then takes it all to the next level. One more important strength was the cord's ability to extend the upper frequencies while retaining all of the air and liquidity present in the mids. Smooth, very detailed, not too forward and not too laid back. BTW, Scott Hall was very helpful with suggestions for my setup and thorough explanations why power cords can make a difference. Still a gluton for mo' better sound I ordered A Fat Boy 2000 Gold (separate review). It goes to the Cary. I now have a system that serves the music in a way that can touch the heart as well as the mind.
