Excellent interconnect. Works extremely well between my preamp (Sonic Frontiers Line 1) and power amp (ARC D-130) and between the preamp and CD player (Nakamichi changer). Very transparent. Got rid of the hum in my system.Only downside: a bit stiff. Excellent construction quality -- reminds me of the cables we use for our servers at work. I can't give it 5 stars because I haven't done much comparing with other interconnects.

Strength:

midrange, tightness of bass, unbiased

I own a 1 m pair that connects my Rotel RCD-971 cd player to my Denon AVR-2600 receiver. Out of curiosity, I have been buying and selling various pairs of cables. This is the third time I own a pair of Cardas Quadlinks, and I never regret it. I was fooled into believing higher price meant higher sound quality. Trust me, the Cardas are a very good buy, regardless of price! Makes the music sound right, and especially, unbiased.

Strength:

warmth, easy on the ear sound, good for vocals.

Weakness:

slightly muddled, slow in bass, imaging quite vague.

I have owned this cable for more than 3 years. Cardas does not always change their model and you can still buy this cable at retail outlets. The cable is very well constructed but stiff with ferrite filters I suspect at the amplifier end. The RCAs are also of very high quality. This cable is very system dependent. It should be matched carefully with the speaker cable. Try avoiding partnering with MIT speaker cable. If your system sounded thin, lean and bright, then this cable may be suitable for you. Music has body and weight, sounds warmth and pleasant to the ears. Bass appear to be slow but coherent with the rest of the sonic spectrum. Treble is never harsh. Those who like vocal tracks will like this cable. On the negative sides, it sounds a bit muddled compared with other cables. Stereo imaging is also not its strong point, the positioning of the various instruments, the height and position of the vocalist are difficult to pin point. For system that is already on the warmth side, using this cable might be way too much.

Considering the price of this cable (its not cheap), I will give it a four for sound and also a four for value.
