an Audiophile

I have been an audiophile for the past twenty years and have tried hundreds of audio cables. I have spent (lost) thousands of dollars because of high turnover being not satisfied for long (imagine this process in the hardware arena). Being fed-up with the high cost of cables, I happened on an Internet site called Audiodyne. They are a manufacture direct high-end audio cable company that let your test their cables for up to 30 days. I went for it and ordered a set of Benchmark speaker cables.
I hooked them up to my B&W Nautilus 800's via Levinson 335's. After a careful burn-in, I ran through about 100 discs both vinyl and CD. The one word to describe these cables was "revealing". I believe I was hearing my discs and hardware for the first time. Imaging was wide and deep and I could "see" each instrument in the sound field. The cables were very smooth at the top, perhaps a bit soft, the bass dynamic but a bit light. The mids were perfect and not harsh. It was the overall performance that impressed me, no other cables in all my years of testing really compared. Now enter the price, I have spent many thousands and did not get the results that the Benchmark delivers.

There is much market hype in the high-end cable business, Audiodyne seems to be the "silent contender" in my opinion. Their cables are honest and very fairly priced.

Strength:

The cables were shipped promptly, modest price.

Weakness:

The are not detailed, lack in overall presentation and spade configuration lightweight and easily damaged. The company return policy is arbitrary and unrealistic.

The cable is not for the advanced ear. It lacks the air and detail that I would have expected. The Audiodyne Company also has an unreasonable return policy. When I returned the cables, they claimed the spades had deep scores and were not returnable. I have been using highend cables for years and have returned cables that were not appropriate for my system without any problems from manufacturers. If you are tempted to preview Audiodyne cables be sure to read the lengthy disclaimer and their return policy carefully and weigh the risks. The hassel with being stuck with lack-lustre cables is not at all gratifying. The fact is if one cannot tighten the binding posts on the spades without leaving marks, I don't believe there is a fair way to test the cable system integrity.
