Hi everyone,
dropping a review on the Yamaha RX-Z11. This receiver is an absolute killer! The functions and capibilities are endless. This is a MUST have for any yamaha enthusiast. 11 channells of yamaha power, rated 140wpc rms x7@0.04% distortion into 8ohms,50wpc rms x 4@0.04% for an 8ohm loadfor the front and rear presence channels.Let it be known, for those that are unaware of yamaha power ratings-these are very conservative as well! All channels driven,I measured 176wpc rms x 7 and 62wpc rms x 4 without clipping!! Also,as usual with YAMAHA,this amp is more than capable at driving low impedance loads--- Yamaha has outdone themselves yet again with this beast. Got to mention that there are 2 subwoofer outputs and all channels have pre-outs for external amps, just too cool..! 4 audio zone and 2video zone flexibility---or if you prefer, one KILLER single zone set up, better have about 1500 sq.ft min space or you'll never have the need to turn it up past@ -15 db folks!! A&B speakers on the mains..nice.You can run your computer and TV through it and have some great sound from your game systems.Beautiful picture on your tv/monitor also.Just too many goodies to list. Would have gladly paid the $5,500 retail for it,picked mine up from a local Yamaha dealer with an YDS-11 for less than $2,500. This receiver was introduced in 2008,sadly,it has been discontinued------but,I got mine. Don't believe I will EVER need another receiver. My RX-Z11 retired my RX-V1050 that I bought in 1991..that was the flagship back in it's day,and I'm still using it at another location today, with no issues to date.
