I bought my Sansui QRX-777 while stationed in Germany in 1975. It has crossed the Atlantic 5 times, made 11 major moves. I replaced it once, in the 80s, but placed it back in service because it was just too damned good. Yes, it weighs a ton and is not a standard rack size. Who cares. It is still a great unit. Sound is clear, very flexible for inputs and outputs, with two sets of four speakers, plus headphone output, mike input, AM, FM, FM stereo, phono, two tape inputs. About the only thing it doesn't have is an ipod input, but that's fixable. Mine needs work - the tuning knob binds, the 2-channel front output setting doesn't work, and a couple of the dial lights are out, but what would you expect after all that moving? It's going into the repair shop. I will use this unit as long as I live.

Strength:

Built to last a lifetime.

Easy to maintain - replaceable parts (Try to find something like that today!)

Beautiful black face and wood sides.

Sounds absolutely amazing. One of the best QS decoders ever put in a unit.

QS Quad synth so you dont even need a quad source!

Weakness:

Weighs a ton.

The Sansui QRX-777 is the overseas version of the QRX-7001. It's got the voltage selector.

Quad SQ
CD-4/4-Channel input
QS Synth (Hall, Surround)

You can hook eight speakers up to this unit simultaneously for multi-room or "wall of sound" sessions.

This thing weighs a ton - it is rock solid Sansui from back in their prime (~'75)

Tone control board separate for both front and rears, signal meter, tuning meter.
