I purchased this receiver about six months ago from the Magnolia section of my local Best Buy.I bought a PS3 for blu-ray and since there is no analog multi-out for the Sony I wanted to get a receiver that had the built in Dolby and DTS-hd decoders. As far as movies go this unit does about all you could ask a unit to do for $1000.It has most features and inputs and outputs that most any body would need.It has 105 watts per channel, which is more than enough to push my speakers in the smallish room I listen in. The music side of this machine, though does leave a little to be desired. It doesn't sound "bad" at all really it just sounds really laid back. I don't know if it's my speakers or the Pioneer or both, but some thing is lacking. That being said it still does music well just not quite as well as I've gotten out of other similarly priced units. Over all this is a good buy that handles movies really well and music adequately,if you are a movie buff first and audio guy second then this is a great pick.If you are more into the music side of a receiver then proceed with caution, this may not satisfy.
