Well I bought this for 450 cdn almost 3 years ago and was very impressed with the sound quality. The controls are nicer than my 2250B. Better control and smoother. It's very powerful and is one receiver worth keeping.
I can't think of much bad to say about it. The sound quality is outstanding and very musical. It's not too warm sounding like some Marantzs but it is definetly not harsh. Basically a perfect sound in my opinion. Out of 18 receivers and amps I own, this is my favorite whose sound is only bested by my Fisher 500-C. But it has way more power than the Fisher and sounds almost as good. Now on the downside, it runs hot and I think this has been the cause of component failure which I have experienced. I think I'll run it with a fan from now on if I use it for extended periods or at high volume. All I can say, if it breaks - fix it. It is worth it for sure. It must be a keeper if I went out and bought a wood case for it.
