Strength:

no hiss, extremely reliable, awesome sound

Weakness:

not a thing

I am in the process of building a home theater and cannot decide what receiver to buy. I love the sound of this thing. Although it does not have Dolby Prologic or Dolby Digital the 4 speaker surround still sounds great (with the Spatializer 3D option of the Toshiba DVD player) A friend of mine has the Yamaha RX-V something and the sound is too bright for my tastes. The HK3250 has a warmth that is natural, never bright, and you can use the pre-outs to connect a subwoofer. Why buy a Dolby Digital receiver when so many of them are getting bad reviews? You never know if the one you're going to buy is a lemon. And no matter how high you crank this receiver, it barely gets warm. That's quality.
