Strength:

My first foray back to a Solid State Pre-Amp for 16/17 years. I was initially tentative as all my Tube Pre's thrashed my previous Solid State Pre. an ME 25. Was it that Tube Pre's are so superior to Solid State or that the ME25 is a mediocre Pre? As it turned out it was the latter. This is a superb Pre-Amp. But there is a caveat. It needs extremely high quality and well matched ancillory equipment. When matched with the sublime Vincent SP-998 Mono Blocks it reproduces music at the highest level for the money. Dynamic, fast, and clear with nice dimensionality and soundstage. It easily surpasses my highly reviewed Doge 8, and is in the same league as the superb Vincent SA-T8. Sounds best when fed Tubes from the source. Purchased new in box with warranty at distributor clearout for Aust. $1300. RRP $2999. When matched correctly will compete with or surpass Pre-Amps double RRP. Highly recommended.

Weakness:

Very revealing Pre. so will show up weaknesses elsewhere. Needs very high quality ancillory equipment. Careful matching is mandatory.
