Strength:

Clarity and imaging

Weakness:

Slight softness in bass

This product was a major improvement in my Linn system. It replaced a Linn Kairn, which is a pretty good pre-amp itself. The Copland 301 produces a lush, clear sound, perfect for taking the edge off of CD's. I find I can listen to classical CD's that I always thought were too bright in the past. I am using two Linn LK100 amps with active cards, running Linn Keidlh (sp?) speakers. The CD player is the new Linn Ikeimi, which is very good as well. However, I must say this Copland is the best pre-amp that I have ever used, and cheap as well. I bought mine slightly used, but with new tubes for $1100 U.S.
