Since purchasing my LS7 new, i have yet to find a better preamp at what it does, including recent mark levinson products. It seems to combine all the advantages between tube and solid state in one package, other tube products displaying the 'wolly tube bass'. for the price, its' a killer!Eqipment used: michell gyrodeck, SME IV, qc power supply, koetsu rosewood cartridge; Audio research classic 60 power amp, Audio research PH3 phono amp & Martin Logan CLSIIz's.

The best match with a good solid state amp. For the money, a steal!Midgrange unequaled, provided you have the proper output cables (Cardas Cross ect.)The bass very much depends on source. In my experience it flattens with ss sources but opens up to gut level with a good tube source (I know everyone says is the other way around!) I know owners of AI Modulus models that have sold their components to go after this pre-amp. I reccomend the LS-7 without any reservations.
