Strength:

Good construction, Very good value for money, DTS and AC-3 for under £300.

Weakness:

The remote can be a bit of a pain at times, and the lack of digital in and out for MiniDisc, was a bit of a bummer.

In conjuction with Mission 735i's as fronts, and 734i's as rears and a 77c1 center. With the Sub sent to the fronts, the speakers all balance out quite well, the sound stage is clear and open, The amp delivers more power than you could ever need in a medium to large room, although the missions being easy to drive help there. In the fight scene from Star Trek : First Contact, when Picard gives the order for the assault on the Borg ship to begin, the room lights up with phaser fire from every direction. DTS rendering is extreamly pleasent to the ear, try 12 Monkeys DTS you will be plesently be surprised. All in all a very good product for the price.

Strength:

powerfull,
solid,
, nice remote

Weakness:

no optical/coax for CD / md or options to redirect.

I recived this DSP yesterday, and compared to my now returned Technics SA-DX930, It just whoops! DD and DTS just sound plain powerful and it has no problem to drive my 8ohm 87db 1m/1w speakers to decent levels. My model also has preout on all channels (European model only) ? Haven´t figured out what the impedanze switch on the back really does, can´t hear any differance, well..anyway..I slammed the Matrix DVD in the player (sony S3000)and played around with the soundfields, and enhanced Dolby Digital is pretty nice.
But I have noticed some noice when using DSP modes when no sound is there (just noice..no hiss or anything)

Strength:

cheap, features, preouts, low decoding noise in DD modes

Weakness:

not very high-end amps (resolution with classical DD recordings), no separate equalizers for speakers

Good digital section and preamp, medium analog amps. Good value. I use a Technics A1000 MARKII amp for L/R front channels, which helps provide a good to very good stereo listening experience (classical music). Won't hurt for AV either ;-). The combination provides a good HiFi and AV setup for a modest price tag.
