I recently bought the Brio(last week) and he made me re-discovered my cds. I use it with a Philips cd723 player and DIY speakers (made with excellent Siare HP).The sound is smooth and punchy, the image large enough in a medium-sized room, and the music is... singing ! Just the kind of amp that makes you beat the music with your feet !
Even if a bit shorted in extreme low and extreme high frequencies, what's staying is very clear and musical.

I pay for your listening before buying something else in this range of prices.

    Strength:

For the money, sounds great with vinyl and CDs.

    Weakness:

    Low power phono stage

I got this amp for 100 pounds (150 dollars), and am really pleased with it. It's one of the older Brio's with the smaller case. I'm using it with a Marantz CD67II SE, Rega Planar 3 and Musical Technology Kestrels.
For the money I paid it was really the best sounding amp I heard. Just one niggle - since I got the Kestrel speakers, my classical lp collection has fallen into disuse. With more sensitive speakers it sounds good, but it isn't really powerful enough for the Kestrels (about 84dB) with vinyl. I'll look at the Rega Luna as an upgrade though.
