It is important to start this review by saying I am not one to leave reviews for products. Though I should take this more seriously in order to help others make informed decisions, I have neglected this civic duty. It is because I feel so strongly about this product and Peachtree's customer service that I would feel guilty not too that has turned this new leaf.

About me:
My introduction into HiFi two years ago overwhelmed me and has consumed me, unfortunately turning me into one of those unfortunate souls that always looking for something better. Though this is a dangerous pitfall, there is also something to be said for the excitement of trying to understand what each maker (speaker and amplifier) is trying convey in their products and ultimately find whom best speaks to my ears. So, over two years I have tried many combinations (see below).

Progression through the world of HiFi:

Perhaps this has been verbose but I want to emphasize the exhaustive search knowing there there was always something not quite right right the results. And, before you look at my experience with McIntosh's budget amps and say the problem was the preamp, know that the mathematics check out and it was a calculated decision(though there is more too it then this, I know).

The Results:

My wife and I use five different bench mark artists to gauge our gear (Freddie Mercury, Trevor Hall, Norah Jones, Lisa Gerrard, and Thomas Bergersen). Where my wife prefers warmer/relaxed tones, I like it to be a bit more forward. I would say it is a 60/40 split, both not quite neutral. Freddie and Trevor are particularly useful to us for pointing out the sonic signatures of equipment as they are very challenging for systems to recreate well, usually one is sacrificed for the other. And to make an already long story short, I can now finally say I understand what it means to love a piece of equipment so much that I cannot let it go. There is no way (not even mentioning how affordable this unit is for what it offers), anything can sound better without spending an exorbitant amount of money. My wife and I were glued to our chairs and listened to hours of music the night the Peachtree 125SE arrived. My search is over, all of our music sounds amazing, you must try this unit out to believe it. It is forward/present (but wife approved), it is wide, it is crystal clear, and it goes deep. Buy it, you will not regret it.
