Would like a better front plate and knobs, but for that price, don't wait
the perfect amp. Enjoy!

Simple, power is enough for normal speakers, no gimmick, very honest
for the price.

Strength:

Warm sound, defined bass, beautiful soundstage (though little muddy at high volumes)

Weakness:

Could be tad brighter to give that edge

After a break in of atleast 10 hours this amp has changed its signature sound, which can be seen comparing this review to my previous review. The brightness had gone and the amp has become very warm and laid back. Now it sound fantastic for the price. Bass is well defined and the mid-range is warm. The highs are rolled off so it's not great fun listening to high hats but then at this price you can't expect everything. The sound has body as well, soundstaging is beautiful. The amp sounds a lot bigger than its 50W rating. The sound is full, i.e. not a tiny puny sound, rather a rich sound that makes the amp look like a powerful design. Very nice amp! Easily the best amplifier at this price. It does make the soundstage a little muddy wen driven hard but then at this price you can't go wrong, unless you like your sound bright and in your face.

Strength:

Tight bass, good drive and control on the speakers.

Weakness:

BRIGHT HARSH IN YOUR FACE! No presence, bass lack quality, i.e. it is just powerful and hard sounding like some huge boost at 50Hz!

Firstly do not buy this amp because it has great reviews. It is by no means a wonder. it has been voiced to give a particular sound which sounds appealing initially but after sometime tires you out. here is what I mean. The high are not extended, i.e. they are cut off from about 10k Hz onwards. Now what NAD has done is boosted the remaining part of the highs so that you get a BRIGHT sound and hence some detail. It is an in your face harsh treble which if mated to a bright speaker will prevent you from turning the volume control beyond the 9 clock position. (also ensure no bright CD Player). If you play a song by someone like Whitney Houston or Dido there is no way you can blast it as the voice will pierce your ear drums. The bass section is very tight and fast. it has good control over your speakers but then you loose out on definition. A drum sounds good but if your looking for the amp to reproduce the entire drum range looks elsewhere. The mid band is boosted between the 1k-3k region and the highs are boosted from there till about 10k Hz. What this means is that a suck out is created in the lower mid band and hence the sound is not natural sounding. You will not get any presence of the singer with this amp.

Power is good, the amp sounds like its on fire. This is again because of the boosted treble and bass which give you the feeling of more drive.

However the soundstage protrayed by this amp is fantastic. I suggest removing the links that connect the pre power sections as they appear too cheap. (though connecting a Monster 400MKII to them did not change the sound much).

How does this compare to the competition?
Marantz 6010 OSE (Owned it) - has very fine treble and insight, flat imaging and loose boomy bass. NAD offers tighter bass and more control but the treble is in your face!

Cambridge 640A - offers MUCH more insight in the treble than the NAD but lacks the rock hard bass

Rotel RA02-wouldnt recommend this amp for anything. it sound funny, i.e. nothing great! Just bright!

Would I recommend this amp? Hmmm... for the price you can get a Cambridge 540A which is another dead amp. I suggest that you save up and buy a higher specked amp like an Audio Analogue. Marantz 7001, Cambridge 640A, NAD 320BEE all lack any real magic in them. i.e. they sound just ok not great.

I have this amp paired to a Marantz CD7300 (slow player with beautiful treble insight but gets beaten by the cambridge 640C) and a Jamo E750 speaker.

Trust me on this, at this price everything is crap. PS PS PS save up and buy a proper amp and pair it with a great CD-Player!

Strength:

Powerful amplifier, tone defeated button (a must to preserve original sound from the recording), soft clipping function (I don't think I will use it anyway... but a nice touch), all RCA gold plated, runs warm for hours, sound quality, sound quality, nice appearance (not flashing, also we don't pay for gadgets...), sound quality, warm feeling makes signer was just in face of you, even listening to Rammstein CD collection makes you discover new instruments (maybe how was there real sound)....What can I say more? At this price, don't waste your time reading the rest of my review and go listen one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Weakness:

hmmmmm well, remote is not compatible with NAD DVD, like mine T562, no detachable cord (but easilly remplaced), speakers connectors are a bit on the cheap side (I'm using Audioquest Type4 biwire cable, and since the conductors are solids, it's tough to get connector with a tight fit (seems like the connector will break before the conductor fails... also RCA connctors are but too close together; people with big hand (like me...) are going to find it funny to unplug interconnects...

Well, I bought this integrated amplifier to replace a trouble free 5 years old Technics SA-AX7 receiver. Immediate sound improvement were heard... First, this is powerful, thanks to power drive, because at 50w / canal, it as no problem driving my B&W DM601S3 speakers, unlike the Technics (which was bi-amped at 200w x 2 -on 6ohms-) and was overloading sometimes.... It took a 1month of moderated use to get the NAD break in period achieved. During this, sound characteristics changed to the best: improved channel separation (imaging), the highs became more present and natural, the bass well defined and most evident thing was the mids get balanced with the highs; I mean when I first used this amp, I found that there were too much warm for my taste, because the highs seemed missing energy. Now there is a kind of natural, non-fatiguing response. This is not a hear killing like the Technics, with no mids and very much more highs. All is balanced, and make the use of a subwoofer not really necessairy; with the Technics, I needed to but more bass and turn up freq. cut off to feed the hole in the mids. Now the sub starts where the B&W fails (about 60 hz), and volume control is much more lower, increasing the details extracted by main speakers. Cymbals sounds like cymbals, guitar like a guitar... you know what I mean. To make it brief, TRY IT by yourself

Strength:

Dynamics, smooth musical presentation, powerful, simple user interface, sounds very good with a wide variety of music genres. Sounds less forward and crisp than Rotel RA1062 also less powerful, but much more natural. Sounds more dynamic than the Marantz PM-7200, and in some ways smoother yet more extended. I think the Marantz piece seemed warmer sounding which was fine on some music but less involving overall on most music.

Weakness:

The lack of phono input, feel of controls is that of cheaper mid fi gear, the Rotel RA1062 felt higher quality as did the Marantz PM-7200.

Excellent smooth sounding amplifier with all types of music, much more powerful than the 50 watts would suggest. Build quality internally looks exceptional. Overall feel of the component is comparable to an inexpensive mass market product from Best Buy. The design is austere yet modern and attractive. The sound character is slightly warmer than most mass market product and the midrange is smooth and accurate. All music I have played has been very enjoyable.

Strength:

Nice warm sound, minimalistic look, lots of power, good headphone amp

Weakness:

None

I love this amp. It drives my Dali Suite 2.8 plenty loud. Even though it is rated at 50w/channel, this baby has a lot of reserve power. It has a nice minimalistic look which i like. The musical presentation is great. It has an overall warm sound but doesn't sound unbalanced. The headphone amp is also good. I sold my dedicated headphone amp because the Nad's do the job well. For the price, this is a no brainer.

Strength:

Cheap and didn't actually do anything grossly wrong except for lack of openess and dullness.

Weakness:

See above. Yawn.

This is a decent lower priced integrated amplified but never forget the catch words "for the money" I was disappointed by the closed in less than dynamic results. Not all that transparent and I was not that happy. I separated the amp section alone and mated it with an excellent Coda 02B preamplifier for an experiment, and it the sound was excellent. The preamp section of this thing makes it mediocre in an absolute sense. I had previously mated the amp section of an older NAd integrated with a free, given to me, Hafler preamp modified by Musical concepts and got simiar excellent results. The amp was good, total integrated amp dragged down by the preamp section. Yes, I know it makes no sense to mate a $2500 preamp with a $350 amp but the NAD is for a workshop system consisting of a Stan Warren modified DVD player source and some nice little PSB Image speakers with Music Metre cables and this newer model didn't sound as good as the old setup Hafler/NAD mix. With the Hafler preamp in, VERY musical. With the 320BEE as an integrated, it is lack luster. This may be a good integrated amp for those coming up from rubbush audio but don't kid yourself, there is another world out there and it sounds a lot better.

Strength:

Good desigh, natural sound, detailed midrange, deep bass.

Weakness:

No one considering the price and overall quality.

I am using the integrated amplifier NAD C320BEE already 3 months. The standard look of amplifier is good for me, real Hi-FI. The ratings of C320BEE are honestly matching to its power consumption (2x50W - 230v, 1.5A). I have opened the case and found out that amplifier has very clever design inside and good quality assembly. The toroidal transformer, big filter capacitors, components of good quality, everything done properly with high respect to NAD. The sound of amplifier has real HI-FI presentation. The first thing you can notice is musicality, everything is natural, well defined, a little rounded. Such a sound is especially good for acoustic material and jazz ,though quite different styles can be reproduced with ease of real professional. The highs are well defined, but not as airy as for example Marantzs, and not as bright as Yamahas. The mids are very detailed and natural, you are finding many details unknown before. The bass has weight and drive so appreciated in the music, but it is less impressive, than for example the bass of HK630 (harman/kardon 1999). Anyway the NAD C320BEE is very good amplifier for the price and overall sound quality, especially if you consider that NAD continues his good HI-FI traditions while others forgetting them in the home theatre race. Thanks to NAD, 5 stars with confidence.

would like a better case, but for the price, forget it! Enjoy!

Probably,The nad 320bee would be a very good bargain for you if you're looking for an afordable amp. A lot of details, transparency, very clean, but not a «thunderstorm» in the bottom, but it's clean. However, need a good speaker..of course! Happy listening!

In addition to those previously mentioned - holds it's own with ancillary equipment above it's price range.

Weakness:

Previously mentioned...

This is a follow-up to my previous post (the one immediately following this one), and would like to add a few more comments. Since my initial review I have upgraded my CD player to the NAD C542, and acquired a Technics SL-BD2 turntable w/ a Grado Blue cartridge (using the NAD PP-2 phono pre-amp). With each addition, the C320BEE continues to improve in all areas - lows, mids, highs, imaging, etc. The biggest improvement I've noticed came from the addition of the turntable. If you really want to hear what an amp is capible of, there is no better way than to listen to it with a good turntable. If you've never heard vinyl or forgotten how good it sounds (especially compared to CD), what are you waiting for? People may see a lack of a phono input as a weakness, but I don't believe it is. The addition of one would have increased the price for those who have no use for it, making that a weakness. NAD's phono pre-amp is relatively inexpensive and worth the cost/savings if you need/don't need it. Also, I still haven't heard the buzzing noise from the power transformer as other reviewers mentioned, reinforcing my belief that the issue has most likely been addressed by NAD (my unit is now 7 months old, and has a grey power button instead of green).
