Strength:
Low cost, quality construction, great sound. Enough power to offer more speaker options than many tubes.
Weakness:
Stock tubes Never going back to solid state for 2 channel audio! Super warmth, and depth. Get the tube cage if you have children about! 5 stars on both counts! Hey, $850 MSRP, can't go wrong! Manual is ultra-helpful to a first timmer! Similar Products Used: only solid state |

The amp is great! I found one used for $500 to use in a system for a small bedroom, along with a Marantz CD63SE and Mission 731i's. Interconnect is Wireworld Atlantis and speaker cable is Kimber 8TC. |

I spent the last 10 months building a set of speakers- dual Vifa woofers, and tweaked sild dome tweeters. Overall efficiency is about 93dB, so I thought a low power tube amp would be just the thing to bring out their best qualities. I listened to the AMC 3030, and then to the Jolida 302. There's just no comparison. Vocal material (listen to Margot Timmons of any of the Cowboy Junkies CD's or Patricia Barber's Cafe Blue) is practically in your lap with this amp, and the soundstage is incredible. I'm re-listening to most of my CD collection, and haven't turned the TV o when. For the money, Jolida's got a great thing going. |

This amp was a discovery for me, since I purchased it before their were any reviews (or Audio Advisor distribution). After a long in-store demo, I selected it over the more expensive KT-88 based Jolida (possibly discontinued?), because I thought it sounded smoother and more realistic. I also felt that the in sonics to be gained by moving up to tubed separates I heard (entry-level Audio Research and Conrad-Johnson offerings, or Golden Tube) did not justify the difference in price, although I was prepared to spend the extra money. I have been very pleased with this amp. It has been in my system for 2.5 years, mostly driving Quad ESL-63s purchased used. The pacing is not too spectacular, but the clarity, accuracy of timbre and resolution are terrific for this price class. Non-audiophile, but music-loving, visitors have commented that some quite run-of-the-mill CDs sounded very well-recorded when played on this system. I also had a chance to put this amp between a $7500. Wadia and some large Thiels at a dealer. The bass got unacceptably mushy at moderately high volumes, but when playing at lower levels, the sound was remarkably good despite the humble Jolida in the chain. Obviously this is a poor system combination, but it revealed that the Jolida has tremendous capabilities when not pushed beyond its ideal operating load. |

If you are on a tight budget, but aren't looking to sacrifice quality, this is a great buy. Paired with the proper speakers, I am using Chapman's, this amp comes to life. Depth and soundstaging are presented exceptionally well from this "cheap" integrated. Many times I have been listening to a great recording and all I have to do is close my eyes and I can just picture the music is right there, an amazing feeling. Female voices are clear, and non-fatiguing. I agree the bass is not deep and lacks definition and tempo, but I'd much rather sacrifice that than beautiful midrange and highs. I have no problems with overheating, binding posts, etc. and biasing is quick and easy. If you can't afford good tube separates, then go for the Jolida. It brings out the musical capabilities of vacuum tubes that solid state cannot. A great buy. |

This is my first tube amp and I love it. The past 10 years, I had a few changes on my audio gear (primarily amps) -- NAD, CREEK, ACURUS and a finally settled on the Jolida. I have it for about 2 years now and I have no regrets. I found myself spending more time listening and enjoying my records and CDs. My 302 is hooked to an EPOS ES14 and this combination provides me the 'music to enjoy'. I must admit the bass is on the soft side but the mid-range and vocals are to me just glorious. |

Recommended, especially if you tire of the solid state sound. The mids are right, the highs are a bit rolled off (in a tubey way), and the base can easily be improved as described below. My tastes run to classical and jazz, so this amp is a good fit. Overall, a very musical amp without pretentions or the price tag to go with it. |

I guess the Hype is true, I was in for a real big suprise the sound is so smooth, smooth clean highs, good midrange, decent bass, deep soundstage this amp is just clean, I mean clean. It also does a good job with female vocals too! with this amp you don't get ear fatigue like you do with SS amps that is some of them, but for the price you cant beat it. |
