Strength:

Well built, good clean sound, looks right.

Weakness:

No option for external pre-amp or for use as pre-amp on more powerful power amp. Limited inputs (3 plus Tape in)

On the whole I have been very pleased with this amp as a match for my Klipsch Heresy 2's. Some of the other reviewers here seem to find the unit non-musical - this is a surprise to me as I have found quite the reverse.

There are no obvious (to me) weaknesses in playback and the remote is a lesson in simplicity others would do well to follow.

I am not able to comment on its value for money as I bought it in a hurry and I have a feeling that similar quality sound may be out there for a lot less $$.

In retrospect I wish I had shelled out the extra $$ for the 307 which supports use as both pre and power amps. This would have made the unit rather more flexible, expecially if I ever change speakers for less sensitive models. At 90 wpc it may not have the juice to drive them properly.

For now it is a welcome addition to my system and plays probably 60% of my music (the other 40% is played on my tube monoblocks).

If you are looking for a long term investment in a timeless, rocksolid integrated amplifier then have a look at this model. It has all features you need for daily life (inklusive an RC), will handle all speakers you attach to it and will reward you with an excellent sound. This amplifier helps you to find all the details in the music and if you pair it with speakers like Piega P5 like I do, you got an acoustical magnifying glass. If you are looking for a more "laid back" sound then better have a look on some UK-devices. I am very happy with this amp and can highly recommend it. Here in Singapore it quite cheap (2570.- SGD). 1400 SGD cheaper than in Germany!

Strength:

looks, build quality, RC

Weakness:

too expensive (in Germany), sound is detailed but lacks musicality

In my system the E-211 played for about 1,5 years on B&W CDM 7 SE and Cabasse Iroise. I also heard it several times with Dynaudio´s Contour 3 and 3.3 and Nautilus 804 and 805. What really shocked me, for I never even expected it with allmighty Accuphase, was, that my E-211 had to be repaired just after a few weeks of listening. The right channel simply faded out, a little bit every week... .But service was excellent and cost me nothing.
But now for the sound: In every combination I heard with this amp the dynamics and soundstage was excellent. Treble is sometimes a bit too bright. Midrange, especially in female voices, is clear and very good to understand. BUT: the bass is annoying. It has a good extension, is quite deep but the "bass-quality" is not worth talking about. It is too hard, "popping", kind of one-note-bass on every speaker I heard it with. (Just for comparison: In this category the much cheaper Primare A 20 is even better: warmth, "aura", musicality.) I didn´t notice this while auditioning the amp before buying. But after a long time listening I found out: Maybe there are matching speakers in the orbit, but I could not find them...

Strength:

Sweet sound

Weakness:

not so detail and sound stage compare to pre and power in similar price.

The sound seem to be ok at first listening but when you get used t it, it's lack detail, dept and image of the good pre power. it is good for bright and hard speakers that need more warmer and smooth but for me, i better look for others product.

Strength:

Production quality , looks , great sound

I was impressed by the uncolored very natural sound of the amplifier.I am used to hear piano , organ and especially harpsichord and the sound of the E-211 is very close to reality (I use B&W nautilus series speakers).Harpsichord can sound very harsh and unpleasant on a bad system but with the E-211 its great to listen at this music.I also appreciate the detail and the dynamic properties of the amplifier and last but not least the very well controlled bass.
This amp is great in the reproduction of Jazz and classical music.
This is certainly one of the best integrated amplifiers I've heard and should be considered in every mid-range priced system.
