Strength:

Bass response, clarity, hum free

Weakness:

None

I started with the Transcendent Stereo OTL then upgraded to the monoblocks. (The Stereo OTL is returned and converted into a monoblock for free requiring the purchase of only one monoblock.) Even at low volume levels the monoblocks have more bass punch than the Stereo OTL. (Which isn't bad to begin with.) These are absolutely wonderful sounding amps from the deepest bass to the highest treble my speakers can reproduce. (Joseph Audio RM30si.) If you are striving for the most realistic sound reproduction possible these are the amps for you. If you don't believe me, Transcendent offers a two week free trial so you can see for yourself. I know their offer is legitimate because I've used it!

Strength:

Power, dynamic range, damping control, clarity, presence, this list goes on.....

Weakness:

Have found none so far

I'm compelled after only 3 days with these OTLs (new low noise version) to express that for my system, there can be nothing better. When I first auditioned the Von Schweikert VR-8s at Albert's factory, he had them connected to some really interesting tube gear and it blew me away. I bought immediately. Got home with them and connected to the Proceed AMP5 and was impressed. After breakin, still impressive and moving, but not the same experience as at Albert's. I guess I should've known, right?

Well, there is no comparison and these OTLs only have about 20 hrs on them so far!! Bruce's design and implementation simply get everything out that is there in the music. A great live recording, One Man's Blues, by the Jazz Maniacs (www.jazzmaniac.com) literally happens right there in my living room. Amazing. I know not much about all of the technicalities of audiophile jargon so this is a purely emotional response based on my experience. What else is there in the end? Get Bruce's book, build the units or not, enjoy the music!
