Strength:

detailed, adjustable gain on all inputs

Weakness:

a otuch to bright and lacking bass control with hard-to-drive speakers

I have used this amp for some time now. The sound is slightly on the bright side of netrual and very, very good for its price.

I recently switched to Dynaudio Contour 1.8 mkII speakers to get a fuller sound in my larger (60 m2) listening room, I also borrowed a Primare A30.1 amp to compare to my amplifix and i must say that i was stunned by the primare/dynaudio combo. Much tighter and better controlled bass, unbeleavably neautral sound and a wonderfully LUSH, yet detailed treble with very good soundstage. With the A30.1 everything snapped into position and i wanted to play louder and louder and lean back and enjoy the music, whilst the amlifix sounded a touch too analythical and uninvolving.

So, is the primare a better amp, then? Is the "super sounding amplifix" just a mediocre amp haussed by biased swedish audio magazines?

As with every other amp. speaker CD-player, cable etc. you have to find a matching components that bring the music together. I'll switch to the primare cause it suits my speakers better, but i strongly recommend that you listen to the amplifix when out shopping for your next $1500 amp.

Stars? For it's price it's a bargain, but if you extend the pricerange a couple of hundred bucks there are some tough competitors.

Strength:

looks, sound, remote versatility

Weakness:

It still won´t drive really difficult speakers

Here I am again writing about this amp which I´m about to sell..not because it´s bad but because I tried the new advantage power amp..which (at twice the price) sounds so much better..it seriously rocks!! My foot is tapping all over the place! It drives my BW802 wonderfully! A great intergrated amp is ok to try..but dont let it fool U that it can beat costlier separates!

Strength:

very powerful and at the same time very detailed "sound image"

What really makes this amplifier stand out (to my experience) is the extremely nice higher frequency repruduction. I use it in combination with Canton's RC-L speakers and they make a very good team. The comments about it being weak in the base area I tryly cannot understand. In my setup it sounds very homogenus.
I also use the CDFIX using the balanced connectors, and it is the first combination that I have listened to where the CD format can really match a good vinyl setup.
I also play a lot of vinyl with my AMPLIFIX (using a Sugden Optima RIAA amp) and I can really recommend it. Go buy an AMPLIFIX today! :-)

Strength:

Neutral controlled sound, look, remote.

Weakness:

None at this priserange

This amplifier is extreamly well built, fully balanced design from input to output, balansed xlr input.
WBT speaker terminals, adjustable input sensitivity, 32A current capacity, etc.

The sound is the best i heard in this pricerange,
neutral, dynamic, detailed and holographic image.
A musical amp. I´m happy.

Strength:

attractive styling, good sound, well built

Weakness:

not in the class of very good separates

Very nicely built integrated with coolest remote U have ever seen! Has been touted in the swedish audiopress as an alternative to high end separates. Sound is very good-detailed and fast with corrct pitch and timbre..however I don´t think the bass i in the same league,BUT there are pre out rca´s so U can add a bass amplifier..then U R really rocking!!
for the price (about $1800) it is a steal but spending more money on separates would yield higher sound quality..but then we are talking double the money.
