This review is for the PS Audio GCA-500 power amplifier. 1000 watts per channel at 4ohms.
This is definitely a "Sleeper" amplifier in the Audio world.
Not physically huge like the Big name brands, but no heat either.
Effortless power, true foundation Bass response, All the power You will ever need, in an amplifier capable of
reproducing exactly what the source presents. Every single detail.

Invest in quality cables, mated with the PS Audio PCA-2 with HCPS, they are like peanut butter & jelly.
Set up properly, You will want this amplifier. It simply does everything right.

The GCA-250 is a Beast also, as I own it as well, basically the same amplifier, with half the power.

Listening will not reveal Any difference from the two, only at the extreme levels. I have no need for with my

95db. sensitive speakers, I have plenty of Headroom.

I will put these amplifiers against ANY amplifiers made!

Dollar for dollar, they can't be beat IMHO that is.

    Strength:

Good bas control of difficult to drive speakers (Thiel 3.6), clear mid-range and highs, can leave on at all times since heat generated is low. All types of music come across as good as the recordings allow.

    Weakness:

    None yet.

All the professional reviewers note the tight bass and transparent mid-range, but there is a difference of opinion on the highs, with some finding them extended, others dry, still others citing a lack of sparkle. Well, even though the amp is not fully broken in, on my Thiel 3.6's, the high range sounds smooth and extended, with air around the cymbals, triangles, and other instuments operating in the upper reaches. There is also a sense of untapped power in orchestral passages. I am using this in an enclosed cabinet, taking advantage of the low amount of heat generated.
