I'm looking for a referance amplifier for my new speaker-building company T.R.E. Audio. Recommendations from Zip @ Sunshine Stereo have led me to investigate this nice chunk o power. I'd appreciate any comments on the X-350, performance, qualities, querks, reliability, etc.... ThankxI've heard this amp on Dunlavy 4a's and EgglestonWorks Rosa's, and was impressed with both matchups.

Initially, tried the Pass labs aleph 1 monobloks. They are the most full sounding SS amp I have heard and in my opinion way too colored sounding .Extended listening proved boring as the Pass seemed to slow down rock and pop music in favour of presenting vocals and Jazz.
i then also tried the x-350 which had a more transparent
window to the music with power to boot.

I have tried many SS recently and to date IMHO,only the Pass X 350 and the 250w Goldmund SRM2 monoblocks were able to combine the delicacy and refinement and naturalness of tubes with the speed ,silence and control of solid state.

The srm2 monobloks had a smidgen faster and more explosive presentation when dialing in with pacey rock. The Pass 350 had a sweeter top end with more bloom in the mids and bass wheras the Goldmunds tonality was biased more towards neutrality.

The X-350 looks awesome and is one of the best implemented SS designs around.
