Strength:

Still a traditional ME, sweet sound, plenty of grunt when needed.

Weakness:

none that i could find.

The ME550-II is a beautifully sounding AMP, much in the same vein as the now outdated ME150, but with less power up front.

Strength:

Awesome dynamics, power and control. Delicate, tube like mid and HF response. Incredible value for money. Seems capable of driving almost any loudspeaker, to satisfying levels.

Weakness:

Heavy. Wife hates the colour.

I integrated this amplifier into my Home Theatre system, last year. Initially, I was concerned about the seemingly low(ish) power output, but after a few hours listening, I was utterly beguiled. This thing ROCKS! Dynamics and micro-contrasts are beautifully and accurately rendered.

A stunning power amp. Easily worth double the money.
