Strength:

Very musical, sweet tube sound

Weakness:

No volume control

I have had this piece around for a few months and I could not be happier with the music. If you are looking to put real music in your house for less than the cost of a new BMW consider this amp. I heard it and it got under my skin. I listened to approximately 20 amps ($1,500 to $7,500), and I always found myself coming back to the Stingray. It is fine out of the box, and takes about 100 hours before it really sings. In addition to it sounding great it looks like a piece of art, its got conversation starter looks, and conversation stopper sound.

I amnot much good at words in reviews, but liked this amp so much I felt I had to say something.

It is simply superb, so much detail seperation and clarity.

It is stunning in looks and people always comment on it when they are in.

I am using Martin Logan Aueris i electrostatics with a Primare 30.2 cd and a Michelle Gyrodeck. I am heaven!!!

Dealer was great and was very helpful - £2295 - buy one!!!

Recently I was helping a friend who wanted to make some changes to his hifi. Well... we did a lot of listening with different combinations.I don't wanna go to technical because most poeple don't understand it anyway (Sorry, does it really matter if the music comes first). If you want the right spec. just visit the www.manleylabs.com I'm about 8 years a VTL owner when there was no split between VTL and Manleylabs. The build quality was solid, but no fancy looks. It all changed when this company became to different names.
So, after all these years I was really looking forward to hear this Stingray amp .
If you go for sound quality without spending a lot of money, this is the answer to your problems. You ..MUST.. try this amp. It could easely convince me after I listen a few minutes to it.
Every note is played with a very subtle entry that gives it a special sound. You can hear it on voices, sax and strings. Clean highs, deep bass, nothing sounds overly bright. It's almost perfect (for the money) if you're a real music lover.
I missed nothing compared with my old VTL amps. The stingray sounds a little brighter than my old TRIODE amps ( witch cost 2.5 times the Stingray). It's a matter of taste and the kind of music you prefer.
Also a matter of taste: "It sounds the way it looks, SUPERB..!!!"

I give it 6 STARS if I could.
