I am currently in the process of purchasing this amplifier, not an owner just yet! I have to start off by saying from someone who has listened to so MANY amplifiers that until hearing this wonderful machinery, I thought that the only thing people were buying with amps were "names"! When I heard this KRELL powering some Martin Logan Prodigy's, the first thing I thought were "It has to be the speakers". Especially being that they were so radical compared to other things available at the time. Then I heard the Prodigy's with other amps and setups like the Sunfire amps and other combination's like Adcom, Denon, Pioneer Elite, and so forth. Most of the brands I just mentioned were receivers, but I have heard from the likes of "Class'e, Mark Levinson,McIntosh,Sonic Frontiers, and other highly regarded amplifiers. I must say that this amp, being a "Class-A" amplifier is the amp that would make me spend $130,000.00 for the KRELL MRA's, and I wouldn't think twice about it as long as I could find speakers worthy of the power and finesse they can emit!!!!!!!! The amp is just that good!!!!!!!!! Buy with confidence and NEVER look back!!!!!!

I am running the Showcase 7 driving Sonus Faber Domus Gran Piano's for Left, Center, Right & 4 Wall Homes for the rears. The speakers are 4 ohms and are moderately efficient - the Krell has total control over them at moderately loud levels. The amp sounds detailed, has good bass, mids and highs, great dynamics & will make your movies really come to life. It is especially good playing the new Dolby True HD and DTS Master Audio stuff - WOW !! that stuff is great great great. I find myself watching the credits at the end of movies because the soundtrack sounds so good - It's on it's own dedicated 20 amp line with stock cord for the moment - the pre/pro is the Marantz AV 8003 which is known to be musical for a pre/pro - There is a nice synergy between them - If your thinking about getting this amp to run your theater and can get it at a good price - Say about half of retail or less - you won't be disappointed. Side note: As far as heat - It gets warm to hot after many hours of use BUT is the coolest running krell I have ever seen.
